AbstractAbstract
[en] α/β pulse shape analysis is configured in Quantulus 1220 LSC, we can detect α/β ray simultaneously in the same sample through preset of the correct PSA value. This paper introduces the principle of α/β pulse shape analysis, and shows to preset the best PSA value by experiment, and discusses the questions paid attention to. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The method of counting 14C as CaCO3 powder in air with a Liquid Scintillator is rather simple and effective, however, it is known to be not very accurate. This paper puts emphasis on different sources of errors associated with the procedure of the method, based on routing monitoring of 14C in air. (authors)

[en] An intercomparison of the analysis of tritium water was reported in the paper between Zhejiang Province Environmental Radiation Monitoring Center and Japan Analysis Chemistry Center from 1999 to 2001. The values reported by two sides are close to the reference values or consistent with each other. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] We study the thermodynamics and phase structures of the asymptotically flat dilatonic black holes in 4 dimensions, placed in a cavity a la York, in string theory for an arbitrary dilaton coupling. We consider these charged black systems in canonical ensemble for which the temperature at the wall of and the charge inside the cavity are fixed. We find that the dilaton coupling plays the key role in the underlying phase structures. The connection of these black holes to higher dimensional brane systems via diagonal (double) and/or direct dimensional reductions indicates that the phase structures of the former may exhaust all possible ones of the latter, which are more difficult to study, under conditions of similar settings. Our study also shows that a diagonal (double) dimensional reduction preserves the underlying phase structure while a direct dimensional reduction has the potential to change it.

AbstractAbstract
[en] That involved in this paper originates from the study and design work for LMFBRs in China that began in 1987. Considering the peculiarity of fast reactor power station as well as the differences from coal power station, quantitative analysis and optimization studies are carried out towards some of the important components parameters related to the steam loop of a typical fast reactor station in order to reduce operating cost and hence to improve economy, with the object of study of a representative 600 MWe CDFR (Commercial Demonstration Fast Reactor). AbstractAbstract
[en] To clarify the seismic design criteria of floating reactor and demonstrate the range of ground motion in Bohai Sea, adopted comprehensive probabilistic seismic hazard analysis method, calculated the spatial distribution of horizontal peak ground acceleration (PGA) on base rock under multi mean annual probability of exceedance (APE). Based on the compute results, showed the primary statistic of ratio between PGAs under different APEs, and may give reference to the determination of design ground motion of floating reactor in Bohai Sea. AbstractAbstract
[en] It is inevitable that dryout takes place inside the heat transfer tubes in once-through LMFBR sodium heated steam generators, which may induce thermal stresses in the tube wall and thus causing fatigue failure to it. An analytical model for dryout as well as for thermal stresses in the heating tubes and its numerical solutions are both presented based on the ANL test data .Furthermore, some main conclusions are reached with respect to the influence of steam pressure, mass flux, temperature difference between sodium and steam on the thermal stresses

AbstractAbstract
[en] Iodine adsorber is generally used in NPP's ventilation systems to maintain the habitability of MCR under accidental conditions and to reduce the radiation level of exhaust air to meet emission control requirements. The efficiency of iodine adsorber to adsorbing the radioactive iodine element under accidental conditions is an important factor to influence the conclusion of related safety analysis. The fire protection de- sign for iodine adsorber in ventilation systems is one of the focus issues in the safety review of NPP's fire protection system. The paper demonstrates the issues to be considered in the application of iodine adsorber in NPPs' ventilation systems and related design measures. The main NPPs' ventilation systems in which iodine adsorbents are used are introduced as well. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The effects of surface modification on the magnetic properties of polymer-bonded Nd-Fe-B magnets have been studied. Two sets of Nd-Fe-B powders, coated and uncoated, were blended and compression molded with polyphenylene sulfide in isotropic form. Their magnetic properties were measured using a Helmholtz coil and a SQUID. The results showed that the effect of the coating significantly improved the irreversible loss in flux and energy product of the polymer-bonded magnets. The results have been interpreted using an isotropic model of hysteresis that takes into account energy losses. The modeling showed that the presence of soft magnetic materials in the Nd-Fe-B powders caused by oxidation reduces the interaction among magnetic particles, however, the coating treatment alters the magnetic properties by increasing the remanence of polymer-bonded magnets via increasing the interparticle coupling coefficient
