[en] In this paper, the principle for defining operational power of the HFETR is presented. The physical and thermal methods of the power calibriation are analysed and compared in the HFETR first cycle start-up experiments. After taking proper correction, their calibrated results can fairly fix each other. The hot spot operational monitoring methods of the HFETR are presented too
