AbstractAbstract
[en] A summary of results of neutrino oscillation experiments at reactors, medium and high energy accelerators is given and upper limits on the mass parameters and mixing angles are stated. Today no convincing evidence for a finite neutrino mass effect exists. Possible future improvements on limits for the oscillation parameters are discussed

AbstractAbstract
[en] Two searches for evidence of neutrino oscillation have been performed by the CHARM Collaboration looking for the appearance of nu/sub e/ in nu/sub μ/ beams. In the first one two similar detectors were exposed to the low-energy PS neutrino beam. This experiment was sensitive to small differences of the neutrino masses, and a limit of Δm2 ≤ 0.19 eV2 was obtained at 90% c.l. in the case of complete mixing. A second search was performed at the high-energy SPS neutrino beam. The higher statistics allowed sensitivity to mixing angles as low as sin22theta = 0.005 (90% c.l.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Theoretical prejudices derived from solar-neutrino matter oscillations and assumptions of neutrino mass hierarchies suggest, that neutrino-oscillations are observable in laboratory with mass parameters of Δm2 = 10-3-104eV2. In particular Muon neutrino → Tau neutrino appearance searches at accelerators seem strongly motivated

AbstractAbstract
[en] Recent results of precise measurements of the cosmic microwave background anisotropy appear to strengthen the non-baryonic cold dark matter scenario. However the outcome of the present round of direct dark matter experiments is not conclusive and latest theoretical predictions of supersymmetric cross sections which take into account current accelerator limits and cosmological constraints tend to predict rather small interaction rates beyond the detection capabilities of present experiments. A new generation of detectors employing larger mass and sophisticated background suppression techniques promises a gain in sensitivity of two to three orders of magnitude

AbstractAbstract
[en] Neutron response functions for superheated droplet detectors have been analyzed from threshold up to 2 MeV incident energy, taking into account a gradual threshold function, in terms of temperature and incident energy. A method for obtaining fitted parameters is described. Detection mechanisms up to 14 MeV are discussed

AbstractAbstract
[en] The positron spectrum from the reaction ν-bar/sub e/ + rho→e/sup +/ +n was measured at three distances 37.9m, 45.9m and 64.7m from the core of the Gosgen nuclear power reactor. These data were analyzed in terms of neutrino oscillations of the type ν-bar/sub e/ →ν/sub x/. No evidence for ν - oscillations was found. In particular the oscillation parameter region favoured by an experiment at the reactor in Bugey (France) is not supported by the data presented here

AbstractAbstract
[en] A status report on a continued search for neutrino oscillations of the disappearance type is presented. Measurements of the anti-νsub(e)-spectrum at two distances (37.9m and 45.9m) from the core of the Goesgen power reactor (Switzerland) have been completed, using the detection reaction antiνsub(e)+p→e++n. No evidence for ν-oscillations was found. The analysis of the spectra yields limits on the oscillation parameters of Δm2=0.016 eV2 (90% c.l.) for full mixing and sin22theta=0.16 (90% c.l.) for large Δm2. The measurements are continued in a third distance (64.7m) from the reactor core

[en] The recent result for the weak mixing angle sin2ΘW, determined in neutrino electron scattering by the CHARM II collaboration at the CERN SPS is reported. From the ratio of νμe to antiνμe scattering cross sections a value of sin2ΘW=0.233±0.012(stat)±0.008(syst) was determined

AbstractAbstract
[en] One of the most challenging problems in todays physics remains the question, whether the neutrino possesses a finite restmass. Experiments searching for neutrino oscillations provide important information on neutrino masses and on the possibility of mixing of different neutrino states. In this paper the principles of a neutrino oscillation experiment at a nuclear power reactor are described and the latest results are presented. (orig.)
