AbstractAbstract
[en] Powder samples of GdMn2Hx hydrides, with 0≤x≤4.3, have been characterized by X-ray analysis and SQUID magnetometry for temperatures ranging between 4 and 375 K. The observed phase transformations as a function of temperature and hydrogen concentration are discussed and explained. The correlated changes of magnetization and susceptibility have been analyzed and the temperature dependent development of magnetic ordering of Mn and Gd atoms as a function of temperature and hydrogen content has been discussed. The structural and magnetic phase diagrams have been proposed

AbstractAbstract
[en] 0.5Bi0.95Dy0.05FeO3-0.5Pb(Fe0.5Nb0.5)O3 is a multiferroic material, simultaneously revealing ferroelectric and antiferromagnetic ordering, synthesis is rather difficult. In this paper we present a conventional solid state reaction method for synthesis of 0.5Bi0.95Dy0.05FeO3-0.5Pb(Fe0.5Nb0.5)O3 perovskite. A series of methodological measurements were carried out to determine the basic structural and electromagnetical properties. X-ray diffraction studies have been made in order to determine a crystal structure. Moessbauer effect spectroscopy was used to identify the oxidation state of Fe. Electrical properties of the perovskite ceramic were examined with impedance spectroscopy. The impedance spectra were analysed by means of an equivalent electrical circuit, and results are discussed in the scope of the brick layer model without easy paths.

AbstractAbstract
[en] The synthesis of materials and the studies of crystal structure and 57Fe Moessbauer effect were performed for Tb0.27Dy0.73(Fe1-xCox)2 intermetallics. Terfenol-D (Tb0.27Dy0.73Fe2) is the starting compound of this Fe/Co-substituted series. X-ray measurements showed evidence of a pure cubic Laves phase C15, MgCu2-type, and unit cell parameters were determined across the series. A Co substitution introduced local area, at sub-nanoscale, with random Fe/Co neighbourhoods of the 57Fe atoms. Moessbauer effect spectra for the Tb0.27Dy0.73(Fe1-xCox)2 series at room temperature are composed of a number of locally originated subspectra due to the random distribution of Fe and Co atoms in the transition metal sublattice, and due to (111) an easy axis of magnetization. Isomer shift, magnetic hyperfine field and quadrupole interaction parameter were obtained from the spectra, both for local area and for the bulk sample. As a result of Fe/Co substitution, a Slater-Pauling-type curve for the average magnetic hyperfine field vs. Co content was observed. It was found that the magnetic hyperfine field corresponding to the local area also create a dependence of the Slater-Pauling-type vs. Co contribution in the Fe/Co neighbourhoods. (author)
