AbstractAbstract
[en] Using ultrasoft X-ray (USX) spectroscopy in crossed modulated beams systematic investigation of electron impact s-ionization for K+, Rb+ and Cs+ ions from the threshold to 300 eV is carried out. Energy dependences are studied and effective cross sections of USX-doublet component excitation are determined. Near their excitation threshold a resonance structure which origin is explained by ion capture of bombarding electrons with simultaneous excitation of these ion outer shell s- and p-electrons. Summing USX-doublet component excitation cross sections s-ionization effective cross sections compared to those calculated by Lotz formula as well as to total cross sections of electron impact ionization for K+, Rb+ and Cs+ ions are determined

[en] Excitation of resonance intercombination Tl2 line lambda=190.8 nm is studied for the first time in intercrossing electron and ion beams. Resonance structure conditioned by the contribution of autoionization states of thallium atom into the population of the 63P1 level of thallium ion. A complicated energy behaviour of excitation cross section of thallium ion intercombination transition reflects mechanisms conditioned by the influence of relativistic and resonance effects in external shells under the conditions of concurrence of several processes: direct transition of electron from the ground state into excited one with spin change , population of levels through autoionized states of atom, and at the expence of cascade transitions as well

AbstractAbstract
[en] Vacuum ultraviolet radiation arising in elastic interactions between 8 to 400 eV electrons and alkali metal ions are investigated for the first time. The effective excitation cross sections are determined for 21 spectral lines. A strongly pronounced structure of the energy dependence is observed and studied in detail, most of the peaks being of a resonance nature. The data can be explained by assuming capture of the incident electrons with the formation of autoionizing states of the atoms or ions. Subsequent decay of the states leads to a strong selective population of resonance levels of the ions, to dielectron recombination radiation emission in a narrow energy gap and, finally, to the emission of ultra-soft X-rays
