AbstractAbstract
[en] Some improvements and upgrading project are progress smoothly at Heavy Ion Research Facility in Lanzhou (HIRFL). The beam intensity of SFC cyclotron is increase 3 to 10 times, the heaviest beam extracted is Pb after improvement of vacuum up to 10-8mbar, reducing the influence the stray magnetic field and power supply system. The beam from SFC could be rebenched to matching SSC cyclotron after new rebuncher is success reaching its design performances. The upgrade project, Cooling Storage Ring (HIRFL-CSR), has been constructed about 4 year. The inject beam line from existing HIRFL system to main ring (CSRm) is installed and tested; CSRm is installed except few special devices; the RIB separator and experimental ring (CSRe) are being installed and will be finish within 2004. The most of setup at CSRm is better than its design that could be optimizing to increase maximum energy about 10-20% more than its original design (900 MeV/u for 12C and 400MeV/u for 238U). There will be some new features at CSR complex which new generation electron cooler, RIB reaction experiment inside CSRe and the digital remote control system. So far, the 12C4+, 16O6+ beam is tuning to inject beam line, and start CSRm commission before end of 2004. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] A heavy ion cooler-storage ring HIRFL-CSR has been constructed at IMP. It consists of a main ring (CSRm) and an experimental ring (CSRe). Two RF cavities will be employed for CSRm. One is for beam acceleration, and another is for beam RF stacking. The accelerating cavity is designed to accelerate the beam from 10-50 MeV/u to 400-900 MeV/u with harmonic number h=1. The peak RF voltage is 8.0 kV and frequency range is from 0.25 MHz to 1.7 MHz. The RF stacking cavity with maximum voltage amplitude of 20 kV and tunable frequency range 6.0-14.0 MHz is used to capture the injected bunches from injector SSC (or SFC) and to accumulate the beam to high intensity by RF stacking method. In the present paper, the designed RF parameters and the details of hardware for the RF system are described

AbstractAbstract
[en] HIRFL (Heavy Ion Research Facility in Lanzhou) has focused on improving the operation efficiency, the facility reliability and increasing beam intensity in the last couple of years. A series of upgrading programs have been accomplished including a new vacuum chamber of the injector SFC (Sector Focus Cyclotron), a new rebuncher between the injector SFC and the main cyclotron SSC (Separated Sector Cyclotron), increase of the RF Dee voltage for both SFC and SSC, upgrading control and diagnostic system, and replacing all the power supplies in HIRFL system. All these modifications and upgrading have resulted in a dramatic enhancement of the HIRFL performance. In order to provide high quality beams for HIRFL-CSR (Cooling Storage Ring), some machine studies have been done which are dedicated for beam injection and extraction of the injector SFC, and measurements of the SFC beam energy and its stability. AbstractAbstract
[en] Sice its inception, the Heavy Ion Research Facility in Lanzhou (HIRFL) has opened a new field of heavy ion physics and its applications in the intermediate energy domain in China. Recently, it was produced to upgrade the HIRFL with a multifunctional cooling storage ring (CSR) forming a HIRFL-CSR accelerator system. This will greatly enhance to performance of HIRFL for the first decade of the next century, particularly for studies with radioactive ion beams (RIB's), and for meeting the emerging nuclear physics needs

AbstractAbstract
[en] The RMF (Relativistic Mean Field) calculations are performed systematically for light isotopes (A<40) with NL-SH parameter set. The calculated binding energies and root mean square (rms) radii of light nuclei are discussed. On the basis of the theoretical calculations and the experimental data, we have suggested a group of phenomenological formulas for the neutron, proton and matter rms radii for nuclei with A<40, including the drip-line nuclei. In these formulas, the effects of binding energies, isospin and separation energies are considered. These formulas not only agree to the experimental data for stable nuclei well, but also reproduce the abnormal large radii of nuclei near the drip-line that the previous empirical models fail to reproduce them
