AbstractAbstract
[en] For development of digital nuclear measurement set with optimum energy resolution, the principle of an optimum parameters digital nuclear spectrum system was advanced. The algorithms were developed, which choose the best digital filter scheme and the best parameters of front-end conditioner, through pre-sampling and system self-study. Compared with the results from multi-channel analyse system, the energy resolution from digital system is obviously improved. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] This paper presents the principle and implementation of intelligent data acquisition system in a digital nuclear measurement system; determine the optimum data acquisition program through pre-sampling and analysing. Achieve the nuclear signal waveform digitalizing in the best sampling frequency and then achieve sampling different parts of the same nuclear signals in different frequency, and related the algorithms. Ensuring the accuracy of the signal data acquisition at the same time, this method greatly reduce the amount of data and obtain the optimal allocation of resources. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Background: One digitizer is used to implement a digital nuclear measurement for the acquisition of nuclear information. Purpose: A principle and method of a parameter-adjustable front-end controller is presented for the sake of reducing the quantitative errors while getting the maximum ENOB (effective number of bits) of ADC (analog-to-digital converter) during waveform digitizing, as well as reducing the losing counts. Methods: First of all, the quantitative relationship among the radiation count rate (n), the amplitude of input signal (V_i_n), the conversion scale of ADC (±V) and the amplification factor (A) was derived. Secondly, the hardware and software of the front-end controller were designed to fulfill matching the output of different detectors, adjusting the amplification linearly through the control of channel switching, and setting of digital potentiometer by CPLD (Complex Programmable Logic Device). Results: (1) Through the measurement of γ-ray of Am-241 under our digital nuclear measurement set-up with CZT detector, it was validated that the amplitude of output signal of detectors of RC feedback type could be amplified linearly with adjustable amplification by the front-end controller. (2) Through the measurement of X-ray spectrum of Fe-5.5 under our digital nuclear measurement set-up with Si-PIN detector, it was validated that the front-end controller was suitable for the switch resetting type detectors, by which high precision measurement under various count rates could be fulfilled. Conclusion: The principle and method of the parameter-adjustable front-end controller presented in this paper is correct and feasible. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Since there are many limits in the method of the traditional DSP system, a new method of digital nuclear signal processing based on the digital image recognition is presented in this paper. This method converts the time-series digital nuclear signal into the pulse image with adjustable pixels. A new principle and method have been taken to develop the SNR of the digital nuclear signal with the theory and method of the digital image processing. A method called ISC is presented, by which it is convenient to extract the template parameters. (authors)

[en] According to the characteristic of the nuclear signal and different measurement requirements, explore an effective and convenient method to determine the best sampling frequency. Propose using digital means to achieve sampling the same nuclear signal in different frequency. Through analyzing and comparing the signals in different frequency, determine the optimum sampling frequency. Try to simple the different parts of the nuclear signal in different frequency to obtain sufficient accuracy and optimal resource allocation. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] In order to realize radiation distribution and exposure rate detection simultaneously, the paper puts forward a new design method for low energy γ ray and X ray detection which uses CMOS imaging directly. In the detection system, CMOS is used to image and the exposure rate is acquired according to images' gray value. Experiments confirmed that the radiation damage on the device can be ignored when radiation dose is low and detection time is short. The experimental results show that CMOS imaging can be used to detect two-dimensional (2D) distribution and exposure rate simultaneously. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] A method of digital nuclear radiation energy signals processing was developed. It includes polar-zero identifier and compensation, baseline subtraction, low-pass filter, pulse shaping and amplitude analyses. The method can convert a signal with long exponential attenuating tail to a trapezoidal or triangular pulse. Processing the signal in off-line, the preliminary experimental tests show the potential advantages of these techniques in high resolution spectroscopy. (author)
