AbstractAbstract
[en] Chromium ferritic steels developed for power mechanical engineering instead of chromium-nickel austenitic steels have been discussed. Dependence between the embrittlement temperature of chromium steels and the content of interstitial elements (N, B, C) has been revealed. It is established that to provide sufficient impact strength, the total content of nitrogen and carbon must not exceed 0.020%. It is noted that new 01Kh25B, 02Kh18M2B and 02Kh18Yu3B chromium steels are weldable and have no tendency to brittle fracture after welding heating

AbstractAbstract
[en] Influence of chromium content (approximately 0.5 ... 2,5%) in the 15Kh2NMFA steel, used for WWER-1000 reactor vessels on the fracture properties of its welded joints in the process of heat treatment carried out to remove residual stresses is considered. At chromium concentration in the base metal <= 1% (content 0.14 % V) the welded joints will be inclined to brittle fracture under the heat treatment conditions

AbstractAbstract
[en] Effect of the change of chromium and vanadium content is considered in limits, admissible by technical conditions, on structure and properties of the 15Kh2NMFA steel. Investigation of the tendency to formation of cold near-weld cracks is carried out at samples with initation heat-affected zone. Recommendations on thermal regime of the 15Kh2NMFA steel welding in dependence on vanadium and chromium content are made on the basis of investigation, carried out

AbstractAbstract
[en] The results of investigation into the effect of welding thermal cycle on formation of metal structure and properties of heat affected zones of welded joints of 15Kh2MFA and 15Kh2NMFA steels as well as heat treatment of welded joints on their change depending on tempering time are presented. Bainite-martensite or martensite structure is shown to be formed during the welding thermal cycle in metal of heat affected zone of welded joints of 15Kh2MFA and 15Kh2NMFA steels. Grain size corresponds to the point 5. Metal strength of heat affected zone is 1.5-2 times higher and plasticity is 1.5-2 times lower than the base metal. Metal plasticity of heat affected zone is not restored in the 450-700 deg C temperature range of tests

AbstractAbstract
[en] A possibility for improving weldability of steels of 11-14% Cr content by the sharp decrease in their carbon content has been investigated. It is shown that delta ferrite in the metal structure of the heat affected zone influences predominantly elasticity of 13% Cr welded steel joints. Carbon content restrictions (up to 0.01%) positively affect the weldability of heterogeneous steel structures. 13% Cr hardened steels additionally alloyed with nickel distinguish themselves with high values of strength, ductility, impact strength, are not inclined to brittle fracture after weld heating as well. These data create the prerequisites for developing high-strength stainless chromium steels adaptable to welding

AbstractAbstract
[en] The effect of vanadium on the tendency of the 15Kh2NMFA steel welded joints to brittle failure at heat treatment has been studied. The increase of its content in base metal is shown to make for decrease of welded joint cracking resistance during heating for residual stresses release. The vanadium concentration from 0.20% and higher leads to considerable embrittle--ment of a metal of the near-weld zone during heat treatment at 600-650 deg C

AbstractAbstract
[en] The temperature-time dependences of the origin of σ-phase formation for the chromium ferritic steels of different composition are plotted. It is shown that carbon and nitrogen considerably delay sigmatization at the temperature approximately 600 deg C corresponding to maximal rate of α → σ-transformation. Silicon, manganese, molybdenum and aluminium are extended the temperature range of the σ-phase formation. The obtained data about the conditions of the chromium ferritic steels sigmatization are recommended to use at the development of the regimes of thermal treatment

AbstractAbstract
[en] Effect of heat temperature during welding on tendency to brittleness of welded joints of 15Kh2MFA and 15Kh2NMFA steels during reheating, which corresponds to heat treatment of steel constructions, is studied. Increase of resistance against cracking during reheating and high temperature of heating in welding is established for welded joints of 15Kh2MFA steel. Welding of 15Kh2NMFA steel is to be carried out with heating up to relatively low temperatures (150-200 deg C), because tendency of joints to cracking during reheating increases with temperature increase upto 300-350 deg C

AbstractAbstract
[en] Tests of welded samples made of 15Kh2MFA and 15Kh2NMFA vessel steels were carried out in the temperature range of stress-relief annealing. It is established that all samples were fractured in weld metal. It marked that at 550-600 C the most unfavourable combination of minimum brittle strength and the relaxation velocity of residual stresses is created. Parameters of fracture thoughness of steels investigated have similar values
