[en] Effect of zirconium carbide halogenation conditions on porous structure and adsorption properties of carbon separated in the process has been studied. Effect of chlorination temperature of zirconium carbide is considered during thermochemical treatment of its monocrystals (t=773-1273 K) in a quartz reactor. Thermochemical treatment of the monocrystals with bromine and iodine is realized at the temperature 1073 K. Halogen consumption constituted 0.5 g/min. It is shown that with the increase of chlorination temperature a considerable redistribution of characteristic types of pores and decrease of adsorption characteristic energy (benzene vapours) in carbon separated from zirconium carbide take place. As a result of oxidant nature change microporous structure of carbon adsorbent also changes. It is shown that carbon prepared by means of carbide iodination possesses the highest sorption capacity as to iodine (180%), and samples separated by means of bromination and iodination from carbide possess the highest capacity as to bromine vapors
