AbstractAbstract
[en] Brief information on commercial use of electron beam welding in home power engineering is given. Perfect weldability of the 15GS, 10GN2MFA, 15Kh2NMFA and 15Kh1M1F perlitic steels with the manganese content lower limit 0.6% is pointed out. The absence of hot cracks in austenitic stainless steels is guaranteed provided the Ni/Cr ratio is below 1. Some technological practices of electron beam welding contributing to the improvement of formation are described. Substitution of electron beam welding for electroslag welding is shown to be promising in manufacturing reactor vessels and tube-tube plate joints in steam generators

[en] The process of restoration of drills to be used for drilling deep holes in NPP parts is described. It is shown that the drills restored by argon-arc welding of the drill body with a steel holder supporting a welded-up hard alloy plate, enable to increase the drilling efficiency by 20-25%. Restoration can be repeated several times, if the drill body is in good condition. It presents no technological difficulties andi is profitable

AbstractAbstract
[en] The main problems of steel industry in power engineering are considered. The effect of charge materials upon steel quality is analyzed. Radical dicision of the problem is the ensurance of power engineering plants with high quality original charge materials, which are quite pure according to impurities such as: iron melted from metallized charge or prereduced pellets. The usage of such materials considerably improves the complex of technological and service properties and structure of large responsible products: vessels of the reactor core, especially large shafts and others. For the most responsible power engineering dies it is necessary to smelt steel of 150-200 tons and above. The main direction of steel melting industry is quality steel melting in large 150-200 tons arc furnaces which are equipped with magnetic stirrer installations. It is marked that the branch of power engineering is equipped with unique installations of out-of-furnace steel refining. It is shown that further increase in the metal quality is possible when vacuum and electroslag technique of melting is used. It permits to reduce considerably the amount of sulphur, gases, nonmetallic inclusions, to increase the metal density, to remove zonal segregation in large steel ingots. The main problem in the field of usage of material, produced by new melting methods is the expansion of the product nomenclature and the development of technical conditions, reflecting the increase in material properties as a result of new technique application. [en] Works on welding and cladding technology widely adopted in reactor engineering are enumerated. In particular, developed are the Sv-10KhGNMAA welding wire for automatic submerged arc welding of circumferential seams in reactor cores and the SV-16Kh2NMFTA wire for electroslag welding of bottoms, electrodes for welding of sleeves, the FTs-16 flux for welding of reactor vessels of the 15Kh2NMFA, 10GN2MFA, 22K steels, an electrode strip for automatic single-layer cladding of the reactor vessels and pressurizers.
