AbstractAbstract
[en] Therefore, glasses were used to monitor the radiation load of the eye lens (system 1), the TLDs were installed over the right and left eye (system 2) and on the right and left outer corners of the eye (system 3). Some workers were also equipped with TLD gloves to determine the distribution of local skin irradiation on the hands. Every worker was monitored for 1 month. The paper will present the preliminary results of irradiation of the eye lens and local skin irradiation on the hands that have been achieved within the experimental measurements on PET workplaces with radionuclides 18F, 11C and 68Ga.(authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Our goal was to compare the response of different types of proton irradiation dosimeters and to examine the dependence of the proton energy response. From the group of polymer dosimeters, we used a polyacrylamide gel dosimeter (PAGAT), the representatives of the radiochromic dosimeters were then modified by Fricke's xylenol orange gel (FeXO) and one of the few commercially available 3D radiochromic dosimeters under the trade name Presage. PAGAT i FeXO use gelation information for spatial distribution of gelatin. Presage is a solid-state dosimeter that uses a polyurethane matrix for fixation. Evaluation of the response was performed in all three cases by optical tomography (OT); in the case of the PAGAT polymer gel, we also used magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) imaging. The contribution was created in cooperation with the Prague Proton Center (PTC). (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The impact of radiocaesium on mycorrhizal development and functioning of plant photosynthetic apparatus is considered. The possibility of mycorrhizal symbiosis application in phytoremediation of radioactively contaminated areas is analyzed. It is found that colonization of plants by AM fungus resulted to significant decrease of radiocaesium content in their aboveground parts, while it didn't have considerable impact on the radionuclide uptake by plant root system. [en] In this work, RADAMOL was used to simulate radiation damage of a DNA dosimeter consisting of 27 base pair single stranded DNA and said fluorophore and quencher. The description of the radiation source, Co-60, was created by Geant4-DNA software. The structure of the dosimeter was prepared in the AMBER program. (authors)

[en] This paper describes the methodology of performing a defectoscopic test of the efficiency of the biological shielding of the hot chamber complex built in the Research Center Rez s.r.o. The purpose of the test was to demonstrate that the biological shielding of the hot chambers has the required efficiency, that the radiation protection is optimized and the planned operation of the workplace III. category with sources of ionizing radiation will be safe. AbstractAbstract
[en] The aim of the European MetroRadon research project is to develop reliable techniques and methodologies that allow radon measurement and calibration at low radon concentrations. The results of the project will be implemented in the European Council's 2013/59/EURATOM (EU-BSS) directive, one of which is to reduce lung cancer risk for European citizens due to high indoor radon concentrations in the air. This objective includes the examination of the impact of the thoron (220Rn), harmonization of radon measurements in the interiors and soils, and the development of new methods for the identification and characterization of priority radon incidence areas in Europe. The project also develops new radioactive reference sources with 220Rn and 222Rn with stable and known radon emitting rates to realize reference radon concentrations in the air. Established reference radon concentrations in the air will be used to verify the continuity of calibration laboratories in Europe. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Due to the importance of external irradiation in residential and living rooms expressed by the PPDE unit, the need for a standard to simulate real measurement conditions has emerged. These measurement conditions must reflect the range of PPDE values from the natural background to the reference level according to the Decree. SUJCHBO, v.v.i. has developed a certified methodology for comparing the various devices used to determine the spatial dose equivalent. (authors)

[en] The communication provides summary information on all cases of occupational disease cases examined by miners of uranium and ore mines in the Czech Republic between 2002 and 2016. In the monitored period, 20 to 80 cases were submitted each year to assess the conditions of the disease. In most cases, it was lung cancer. second the most numerous group of diagnosis was non-melanoma skin cancer. The third group was leukemia. Other diagnoses occur sporadically. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Eye lenses are considered to be the most sensitive organs of the human body, which, after irradiation with lower doses of ionizing radiation than previously assumed, record lens opacity and radiation-induced cataracts. The risk of medical damage to eye lenses is most prominent in the group of interventionists, cardiologists, urologists, traumatologists, but other professions in nuclear medicine are also at risk in the preparation of radiopharmaceuticals, in the nuclear industry when decommissioning of the ESA, or in general repairs. Dental ambulances are also at risk for modern CBCT examinations (especially children). Since the new Slovak legislation introduces a lower dose limit for the eyepiece dose from 1.2.2018, we have used the EYE-DTM special ocular dosimeters, designed and tested under the European project ORAMED and verified for the new Hp magnitude (3) by the SZU Bratislava phantom comparison for different X-ray reference spectra and Cs-137 radiation source.
