AbstractAbstract
[en] The Great East Japan Earthquake that occurred on March 11 last year caused significant damage to the Photon Factory (PF). Fortunately, since the user experiments had concluded on the morning of the earthquake, there were no human casualties. However, both the accelerator and experimental equipment sustained considerable damage, leading to the suspension of experiments until July. Experiments were resumed in the fall, and this report details the restoration efforts and seismic countermeasures implemented during that period. Additionally, it introduces the disaster prevention and fire safety measures undertaken by the facility, which accommodates over 3,000 users annually. (J.P.N.)

[en] At the Superconducting RF Test Facility (STF) of the High Energy Accelerator Research Organization, an international collaborative test called S1 Global was conducted from July 2010 to February 2011 as part of the technology development for the International Linear Collider (ILC) project. This test was divided into three stages: Stage 1 involved driving eight superconducting cavities with a single klystron, Stage 2 used two klystrons to drive four cavities each, and Stage 3 evaluated the Distributed RF System (DRFS), which drives two cavities with one klystron. To achieve the amplitude and phase stability of the accelerating field required for the ILC, digital feedback (FB) and feedforward (FF) control were necessary. An FPGA board based on compact PCI was used up to Stage 2, while a newly developed μTCA-based system was adopted for Stage 3. In addition to power meter measurements, an IF (Intermediate Frequency) mixing method and an FPGA board equipped with a 34-channel ADC were used for performance evaluation. These allowed the measurement of multiple signals with a single ADC, anticipating the need for more signal acquisition in the future. This report focuses on the low-level RF (LLRF) system at STF, particularly during Stage 3. (J.P.N.)

高エネルギー加速器研究機構の超伝導RF試験施設(STF)では、国際リニアコライダー計画(ILC)における技術開発の一環として2010年7月から2011年2月まで国際研究協力によるS1グローバルと呼ばれる試験が行われた。この試験はステージ1からステージ3の3段階に大別され、ステージ1では1台のクライストロンで8台の超伝導空洞を、ステージ2ではクライストロン2台で4空洞ずつ励振する構成がとられた。さらにステージ3では1台のクライストロンで2空洞を励振する分布型RFシステム(DRFS)の評価を行った。ILCで求められる加速電界の振幅及び位相安定性を達成するためデジタルフィードバック(FB)・フィードフォワード(FF)制御が必要とされ、ステージ2まではコンパクトPCIを基にしたFPGAボードを、ステージ3では新たに開発されたμTCAを用いたシステムを採用した。またRFモニタとしてはパワーメータによる計測のほか、今後より多くの信号の取り込みが求められることから、FB/FF用ボードを転用して1つのADCで複数の信号を計測可能としたIF(空間周波数)ミックス方式と34チャンネルのADCを搭載したFPGAボードとを性能評価のため併用した。これらSTFにおける低電力高周波系(LLRF)についてステージ3での様子を中心に報告する。(著者)Original Title

[en] The High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK) has been conducting B-Factory experiments using the KEKB electron-positron collider. To enhance the performance of the KEKB accelerator, the design and construction of the SuperKEKB accelerator are underway. This project aims to increase the recorded luminosity of the KEKB accelerator by approximately 40 times, necessitating a reduction in the vertical beam size to several tenths of that of the KEKB accelerator. Excessive ground micro-vibrations and significant mechanical vibrations from equipment can reduce collision frequency, hence the vibration levels of the magnet support system and the floor near the KEKB collision point were measured, and vibration characteristics were investigated. Additionally, the finite element method was used to verify consistency with the measured values, and this was applied to the design of the magnet support system for SuperKEKB. This report presents the results of these measurements and analyses. (J.P.N.)

高エネルギー加速器研究機構(KEK)では、KEKB電子・陽電子ビーム衝突型加速器を用いたBファクトリー実験を行ってきたが、KEKB加速器の性能向上を目的として、SuperKEKB加速器の設計・建設が進められている。この計画では、KEKB加速器で記録したルミノシティの値を約40倍高めることを目標とするため、垂直方向ビームサイズをKEKB加速器と比べて数十分の一にする予定である。このため、床面の過大な常微振動や装置からの大きな機械振動は衝突頻度の低下を招くことから、KEKB衝突点付近にあるマグネット支持システム及びその床面での振動レベルを測定し振動特性の調査を実施した。また、有限要素法を用いて測定値との整合性の検証をおこない、SuperKEKBでのマグネット支持システムの設計にいかすことにした。本報告では、これらの測定及び解析の結果について報告する。(著者)Original Title
