AbstractAbstract
[en] Continous energy spectra of Helium-3 from 3He + 3He scattering have been studied at the incident energy of 120 MeV. A broad bump is seen at the high energy side in each spectrum. Correlation spectra from 3He(tau,tau p)d. d show the peak for quasi-free scattering. In the energy spectrum at theta2 = 200 and theta sub(p) = 400, a peak has been observed in the region outside the quasi-free process. This peak suggests the presence of the excited state of helium-3. Further experiments are underway. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Angular distributions of elastically scattered 3He particles from 54Fe, sup(58,60)Ni and deuterons from the reactions 54Fe(3He, d)55Co and sup(58,60)Ni(3He, d)sup(59,61)Cu have been measured at a 3He energy of 90 MeV. Optical model calculations give two sets of potential parameters which reproduce well the elastic scattering data in the angular region 140 -- 930. DWBA analyses were carried out for the (3He, d) reaction data using these two sets of 3He optical model parameters. The results show that the deep potential set is preferable for the DWBA analysis of the (3He, d) reaction data. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The elastic scattering of 109.2 MeV 3He particles by 40Ca, 58Ni, 90Zr and 116Sn has been investigated over a wide angular range. The elastic scattering cross sections have been analyzed in terms of the optical model. The data for each nucleus studied were sufficient to eliminate the discrete ambiguity in the strength of the optical potential; the unique potential which fits the data has real well depth of about 100 MeV and a corresponding volume integral per nucleon pair of about 310 MeV fm3. The elastic scattering of 3He particles by 58Ni has been further measured at bombarding energies of 89.3 and 118.5 MeV, and the incident-energy dependence of the optical potential of 3He particles for 58Ni was obtained. AbstractAbstract
[en] Spin polarization of 12B was measured for the heavy-ion induced reaction 100Mo(14N,12B) at E(14N) = 125 MeV. Large and negative polarization was found at larger Q value (Q sub(gg) = -7.5 MeV>Q>-25 MeV), as previously measured at E(14N) = 90 MeV. This was followed by small polarization with both signs as Q value decreased down to Q asymptotically equals -70 MeV. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The polarization in proton-proton scattering at E sub(p) = 52.34 and 68.19 MeV have been measured with an accuracy of 0.1 -- 0.2% at angles from 300 to 1000 in the center of mass system, in order to resolve the ambiguity of 3P0 phase shift in this energy region. The results of the phase shift analysis of the present data with the other existing data of proton-proton scattering in this energy region are consistent with the results of Livermore group and Virginia group, except the 3P0 phase shift. The value of 3P0 phase shift we obtained is 12.990 +- 0.160 at 52.34 MeV in comparison with 10.580 of MAW-X. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The decay of 156Er has been investigated with the 160Dy(α, 8n) reaction at a alpha particle energy of 120 MeV. The gross excitation function of alpha particle reaction to 160Dy was examined at the 90, 100 and 110 MeV energy decreasing from 120 MeV with aluminum absorbers on the irradiation facility of I course. As a result of the excitation function, the threshold energy of 160Dy(α, 8n) reaction was estimated to about 100 MeV of alpha particles on laboratory system. Then, the irradiation energy of 110 MeV was chosen for the production of 156Er. The gamma rays and X rays spectra from 156Er were studied with 40 cc Ge(Li) detector and 0.5 cc pure Ge detector, and the half life was measured. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Proton-deuteron energy correlation in the 90Zr(3He, pd)90Zr reaction has been measured at a 3He energy of 70 MeV. The summed energy of the main loci in the p-d coincident spectra lies near the 3He break-up threshold energy. This energy correlation shows the p-d pairs mainly originate from the direct break-up process of the incident 3He leaving the 90Zr nucleus in (or near) its ground state. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Preequilibrium and equilibrium deexcitation processes were studied for (particle, xn, yp, γ) reactions on medium and heavy nuclei. Highly excited nuclei produced by interaction of medium energy projectiles with medium heavy nuclei deexcite firstly by emitting a number of nucleons at the preequilibrium phase, and later on by emitting nucleons (mostly neutrons) at the equilibrium phase. The preequilibrium process gets important for projectiles with velocity near the Fermi motion in nuclei. The deexcitation processes were studied by investigating the particles and gamma rays emitted through the deexcitation processes. In particular observation of decay particles in coincidence with descrete gamma rays characteristic of the reaction channels (residual nuclei) was found to be quite useful. Detailed investigations were made on the following subject. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Experiments for the production of new neutron-rich nuclei have been done by using high flux fast neutron beam generated by an AVF cyclotron at RCNP, Osaka University. Obtained fast neutron flux was more than 1010 n/cm2.sec.μA, and then this neutron beam was used for the production of a new nuclide 168Dy by the reaction 170Er(n,2pn)168Dy. (author)
