[en] This practical guidebook is an upgrade of the previous edition of 2006. It concerns all scientific and technical sectors where radioactive compounds are used or handled: medicine, biology, nuclear research and industry, and radiation protection activities. A preliminary section recalls the main notions of radiation physics and radiation protection. Then, a corpus of 212 files with the most commonly used radionuclides is introduced. Each file aims at quantifying the internal and external exposure risks linked with the handling of these radionuclides, and at optimizing the detection and protection means, and the equipments and workplaces. This last edition has been fully updated with respect to the most recent international recommendations and the new French and European legislations
