AbstractAbstract
[en] Between 1981 and 1984, many physics results have been obtained at the CERN pp-bar collider facility. In these lectures the authors will concentrate on the results which concern high transverse energy phenomena : observation and study of high transverse energy jets, observation and study of the intermediate vector bosoms w/sup +-/,Z0

AbstractAbstract
[en] The aim of the experiment is the search for narrow states produced in pp-bar annihilation at rest. In the π/sup o/ momentum spectra and in the region of 200 MeV/c, corresponding to baryonium states of mass 1650 MeV, no clear sign of peak has been observed. The sensitivity for narrow lines in this region is 10/sup -3/ for a 3σ effect. The two-body annihilation channels π/sup o/rho, π/sup o/ω,π/sup o/A/sub 2/ and π/sup o/E have been observed. In the eta spectrum a peak attributed to the etarho/etaω annihilation channel has been seen

AbstractAbstract
[en] The authors motivate high dimensional theories by recalling the original Kaluza-Klein proposal. They review the dimensional reduction of symmetric gauge theories and they present the results of the attempts to obtain realistic description of elementary particles interactions starting from symmetric gauge theories in high dimensions

AbstractAbstract
[en] A review is given of the results obtained up to now in hard scattering of real tagged photons of energies in the range 50-150 GeV, with the NA14 spectrometer at CERN. In particular, after a short description of the experiment, the evidence found for the deep Compton process of QED and QCD is shown and the precise quantitative tests of perturbative QCD, made with the observed high rho/sub T/ prompt γ, π/sup o/ and charged hadron inclusive production, are presented

AbstractAbstract
[en] Heavy flavour decays is the ideal place to measure weak couplings and mixing angles of heavy quarks; moreover, at these very short distances, the interplay between weak and strong interactions can be studied. Due to the unexpected experimental difference of lifetime between D/sup o/ and D/sup +/, the effect of the remaining light quark has also to be taken into account; the situation is evolving fast with measurements of new decay modes for charm and beauty. The production of heavy flavours by photons can be considered as a good test of a simple QCD process: the photon-gluon fusion, where the high mass of the produced quark allows perturbative calculations. It can be compared with the Vector Dominance Model (VDM) predictions. With inelastic Psi photoproduction, second order QCD processes can be measured. These lectures were divided in four almost equal parts: charms, decays, beauty decays, photoproduction mechanisms and experimental methods. Due to lack of space the author mainly gives the references used to prepare the lectures, and develops only the production mechanism with real photons, for which a recent review doesn't exist
