Excitation of autoionising states in noble-gas atoms by fast electrons: neon
AbstractAbstract
[en] The previously developed theory of excitation and decay of an isolated autoionising state during the ionisation of an atom by fast electrons is generalised to the case of several channels. This approach is applied to the calculation of the parameters of the (2s)-1(3p)1P resonance in neon in the spectra of scattered and ejected electrons, as well as in the spectrum of the (e, 2e) process. Calculations were made in the Born approximation within the framework of the Herman-Skillman model and the Hartree-Fock model with a frozen core. It is shown that the occurrence of a significant 'recoil' peak in the correlation function between the ejected and scattered electrons leads to a weak dependence of the resonance profile on the ejection angle in the (e, 2e) process.
