Value of lead shields in angiographic investigations of the brain
AbstractAbstract
[en] Lead shields on the eyes used during cerebral angiography made by the method of Cole are described. The doses to selected points are given: nose bridge and centres of the eyelids of both eyes. On the basis of the obtained data it was found that the shields reduced the doses from 89.2% to 95.6% for the eye, and their shadow did not impair interpretation of the vascular pattern. Conditions are discussed when shields should not be applied. (author)
