Relativistic Born cross sections for borno isoelectronic sequence

[en] We have investigated the reliability of the dipole approximation for the transverse interaction in the inelastic collision of fast electrons with Be-and B- like ions through numerical computations. It is shown that the dipole approximation is not feasible for the nonvanishing transverse effect at large angle scattering when the scattering is accompanied by excitations corresponding to the intercombination lines.
