[en] In addition to their storage and transport cask development programme, TRANSNUCLEAIRE have designed a modular equipment for the consolidation of PWR spent fuel assemblies which can be set up at reactor, in the transport cask loading pit. The method proposed by TRANSNUCLEAIRE allows to double the capacity of existing storage pools and transport casks. Further improvements can still be achieved when using storage racks and casks internal arrangements specially designed to hold the fuel rods packaged by bundles of 66 in small size canisters
