Polarized 23Na-induced reactions with 208Pb at 8 MeV/nucleon
AbstractAbstract
[en] It has been established in numerous experimental studies that nuclear deformation plays an important role in heavy ion interactions. One of the most direct methods to investigate these effects is an application of polarized beams where the spin and thereby the mass alignment can be chosen at the source. The present experiment was performed with beams of tensor and vector polarized 23Na interacting with the 208Pb target at 170 and 196 MeV to study the four analysing powers in quasi-elastic and reaction channels.
