Safety analysis report for packaging (onsite) for limited type Bmaterial in the CNS 14-215H cask
AbstractAbstract
[en] The purpose of this Safety Analysis Report for Packaging is to provide the analyses and evaluations necessary to demonstrate that the CNS 14-215H cask provided by Chem-Nuclear Systems Inc. can safety transport greater than Type A quantities of radioactive material on the Hanford Site. The CNS 14-215H cask was chosen for its loading abilities, availability, and because it has a Certificate of Compliance (CoC) issued by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for transporting low specific activity in quantities greater than Type A material in commerce. Although the CDC does not cover greater than Type A material not meeting LSA requirements, it does allow for an established level of protection in determining the safety of transporting Type B material on the Hanford Site
