[en] The ongoing study of charm production at Hermes as a mean to probe the spin distribution ΔG(x) of the gluons inside the nucleon is briefly reviewed. First results on the search for J/ψ decaying to e⁺e^- and μ⁺ μ^- and a preliminary measurement of the J/ψ electroproduction cross section are presented. Finally an overview is given on present and future upgrades of the Hermes detector to enhance charm detection
