[en] The presence of residual thyroid tissue even after total or near total thyroidectomy for Differentiated Thyroid Carcinoma (DTCa) is relatively common as observed on post-surgical ¹³¹I scan. Parallel with many controversial debates to ablate the residual thyroid tissue by ¹³¹I therapy is being widely practiced for the last five decades.
