CT diagnosis of parathyroid adenoma
AbstractAbstract
[en] Objective: To investigate the CT features of parathyroid adenoma and improve the understanding of the disorder. Methods: CT images and clinical data of 3 cases of parathyroid adenoma proved by clinic and pathology were retrospectively studied. Results: All adenomas were located at esophagotracheal recess (2 on the right side and 1 on left side). The adenomas were oval, well demarcated and homogeneous in density, sized 2 to 4cm (2.3 cm on average) in diameter, the adenoma were strongly enhanced after the contrast agent was given. Fibrecystosteitis were complicated in all 3 cases, while renal stone was found in 1 case. Conclusion: CT can precisely assess the location, shape, size and the complication of parathyroid adenoma, which is valuable for clinical management. (authors)
