🎊 Happy Bastille Day - National Day in France 🇫🇷 🍰 On that day, we wanted to highlight our collaboration with the amazing French pastry chef Aurore Pelier Cady owner and founder of Sweet Aurora shop based in Reykjavík. 🍓 iFarm provided their ICHIGO Strawberries to Aurore to see how it is to "work" with these new strawberries. 👩🍳 We started the degustation with the strawberry cake. It was creamy and delicious. However, we felt that in the cake the ICHIGO were not revealing their true flavour. Hence, Aurore invited us in her kitchen to create a strawberry pie right before our eyes. What an experience to see a chef in action and discover the minutia necessary for her creation. 👌 The pie was excellent and mouth-watering! 🍴 Taste of Sea & Land - Event organised by Iceland Ocean Cluster ✨ Today, we participated in an amazing event that presented diverse Icelandic companies related to food and women entrepreneurs. It was a real delight to meet with the honoured guest Jennifer Bushman from Fed by Blue (USA), Dana Cowin expert in food and beverages in the US accompanied by our dear President of Iceland Guðni Th. Jóhannesson and the first lady Eliza Reid a role model for all foreign women in Iceland. 🍓 Justine Vanhalst, project manager at IEBP, introduced the company and our missions. Then, she was followed by Keita Iino from iFarm, our first tenant. He introduced ICHI-GO the famous Japanese strawberries grown in Iceland. 💪 There were incredible startups present with amazing ideas! It was such a pleasure to be all gathered and share a moment with you. We've learned a lot from all of you! Good luck to all of you with your projects! 🧹Yesterday was #cleaningday at Iceland Eco-Business Park! ⚽ There is no better way to do it than by supporting the local football team of #Keflavík and having a good time outside (despite the grey weather). 🏃♂️ Right after their training, 21 players came with smiles on their faces and motivation, to help us clean up around the entrance of IEBP. 🍃 Due to strong winds a lot have flown away and got stuck in the fence. (Plastic materials mostly). By being so close to the sea, we need to take action to prevent this waste from reaching the ocean. 💪We intend to do this regularly and the football team already said YES for another round! 🎤 Conference Day - Iceland Geothermal Conference 2024 organised by Iceland Geothermal 🕺 Today Ken Noda, CEO at iFarm, talked about how ICHI-GO, their Japanese strawberries 🍓 grown in Iceland, contribute to local food production and food security in Iceland. He was accompanied by Justine Vanhalst, project manager at Iceland Eco-Business Park, to answer questions. 💡 It was a great session with lots of good insights on how geothermal power plant can highly contribute to food security and go way beyong providing "only" energy. A real network can be created around its activities and impact positively the local economy and the well being of the people. 👁️🗨️ IEBP supports businesses in the circular economy that use natural resources from Iceland and contribute to having a positive social impact for the region of hashtag #Reykjanes.
