#Ecosystem services—nature’s contributions to humanity like clean water, climate regulation and disease protection—are the foundation of our societies and economies. #Biodiversity underpins these services, making it essential to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (#SDGs). Yet, since the 1970s, 75% of land surface has been significantly altered, 66% of ocean areas have been impacted and 85% of wetlands have been lost. With more than half of global #GDP depending on biodiversity and ecosystem services (BES), the risks to our economies and future are clear.
