A Milestone Moment: The First Transfer from the Smolt Station to Grow-Out Last Friday, we successfully completed the transfer of our first batch to the post-smolt tanks at our Grow-Out site in Viðlagafjara—a truly significant milestone. ✨ The past weeks have been filled with preparations for this event, and the atmosphere has been electric with anticipation. Everyone was eager and ready to make this a success. A huge recognition goes to both the construction and technical teams for ensuring the post-smolt tanks were ready on schedule. The transfer went seamlessly, and the biomass is adjusting well to its new surroundings. This accomplishment marks a major step forward and stands as a testament to the team’s hard work and dedication. Well done, everyone! 👏

🏗️ Grow-Out Tanks: First Section Erected and Roof Installation Completed 📅 Since work began on the tanks on June 19, the progress has been exceptional. In less than six months, eight tanks from A-Consult Group, each measuring 13x28 meters, have been fully erected, and the roof installation is also complete. 📽️ The accompanying video captures the journey from the erection of the first tank to the completion of the last, showcasing the hard work and dedication of the entire team. 🤝 We extend our appreciation to A-Consult for supplying the tanks and Einingaverksmiðjan for their concrete contributions. This achievement highlights the collaboration between all teams involved, and we are truly proud of what has been achieved.

🔷 The fourth and largest batch has arrived! 🔷 Today, we received the fourth batch of salmon ova, our largest to date, supplied by Benchmark Genetics Iceland . We were pleased to have Sverre Vormedal from their team accompany us for the delivery. 📦🚚 When the ova arrive, it’s essential to ensure they are placed quickly and securely in the hatchery. Preparation and good organization are, therefore, key to a smooth process, which, of course, went very well today, as always. You can see from the smiles on our team’s faces that everything went very well. 😃 👍 We now have biomass across all systems in our Smolt station: the hatchery, as well as RAS 1, RAS 2, and RAS 3.

The largest batch to date—over 900,000 eggs—has been successfully transferred from the hatchery to RAS 1. This is the third time such a transfer has taken place, and each time, it has led to improved practices and increased efficiency. This transfer is a crucial part of the process, where every detail matters to ensure everything runs smoothly and the eggs receive the best possible care. This time, Þórdís, Helga Stella, and Sigga Magga—an all-female team—handled the transfer this morning. And of course, with their expertise and teamwork, they managed to complete the task faster and more securely than ever before. Well done, ladies! 👏 This is a great example of how much can be achieved when good teamwork, preparation, and professionalism come together—all to ensure a smooth and efficient transfer. Next up is Batch No. 4, scheduled for November, along with the transfer of Batch 1 to the grow-out site. Exciting times ahead! 🤗

The Magic of the Northern Lights ✨ Witnessing the northern lights is always an extraordinary experience, no matter how many times you've seen them. In Iceland, the northern lights season typically occurs during the winter months, and judging by the dazzling display that danced across the night sky over our grow-out site and town last night, winter, or at least autumn, has surely arrived.
