We’re delighted to welcome Kat Klopp to NYC Kids RISE as Chief of Communications and the newest member of our Executive Team. Kat brings fifteen years of experience leading communications, digital marketing, and business systems innovation to create measurable impact at scale for mission-driven organizations. Prior to joining NYC Kids RISE, Kat served as a marketing and communications strategist for Three Furies, supporting civic, public, and private sector clients engaged in social impact efforts. Kat established the marketing function and led communications for six years for EL Education, a national organization expanding access to the right to read for more than a million students annually with a top-rated language arts curriculum and model for school transformation. She led marketing for Sheltering Arms, one of the largest human services providers in New York City, and served as an analyst and corporate social responsibility partnership developer for Citizen Schools, helping both organizations boost student achievement and economic empowerment alongside companies like Google, Facebook, and Bank of America. Working in close partnership with Nicole Chin-Lyn, Managing Director of Communications and Intergovernmental Partnerships, Kat will help lead efforts to strengthen connectivity with families, schools, communities, businesses, government, and philanthropy to further embed the #SaveForCollege Program into the fabric of New York City neighborhoods. At Ravenswood’s Family Day, celebrating community and announcing the Ravenswood Resident Association Community Scholarship 2024, a model for neighborhood Community Scholarships that put an additional $71.79 into the NYC Scholarship Accounts of every first grader in Ravenswood! Resident Association President Carol Wilkins and the Ravenswood Resident Association led efforts to raise money to support the future college + career dreams of students. Special thanks to Congressmember Nydia Valazquez for her support. Now, the Ravenswood Resident Association is fundraising for a new Community Scholarship to support the college + career futures of second graders in Ravenswood.
