Time to celebrate! 🎂 🎉 Our hard working Orion Simulator team just finished deploying the all new and exciting approach version for Isavia ANS ATCO school. On that occasion the Orion Simulator team invited people from both Tern Systems and Isavia ANS to celebrate the milestone! The main goal of the current Orion Simulator with Isavia ANS is to adapt and deploy the Orion Simulator for both en-route and approach. Full en-route capabilities were deployed in Q1 2023 and now the team has finalized the deployment of the approach system as well. This means that now Isavia ANS has a state of the art integrated training system for the whole radar environment from APP to ACC and Oceanic. Tern Systems and Isavia ANS have been collaborating closely for almost 30 years now and the Orion Simulator team is made up of members from both Tern Systems and Isavia ANS. The members of the Orion Simulator team are Sæmundur Johnsen, Pawel Sobolewski, Halldor Indridason, Daniele Quaglia, David Karnå, Viktor Gődér, Pólik Marcell, Andor Dezső Tóth, Snorri Valdimarsson, Saevar Birgisson, Þórir Már Jónsson, Einar Karlsson, Ari Á. Jónsson. Both Magnus Mar Thordarson, CEO of Tern Systems and Kjartan Briem, CEO of Isavia ANS were of course present. Orion Simulator is a suite of solutions designed for Air Traffic Control training that effortlessly operates with any standard ATM system, including Polaris ATM and any current operating system. The family of Orion Creator and Orion Pilot work together efficiently to reduce the expertise and labour required to conduct valuable ATCO training. More information about the Orion Simulator can be found here: https://lnkd.in/dnSEu6Pr

We just had the incredible opportunity to engage with the bright, first-year computer science students at the Háskóli Íslands (University of Iceland). Our very own Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, Sædís, was invited to share her experiences and insights into the practical world of Software Quality Management (SQM). Moving beyond the textbook basics of testing and SQM, Sædís delved into her personal journey within the tech industry, offering students a real-world perspective on the challenges and rewards of working in quality assurance. Her presentation aimed to bridge the gap between academic concepts and the realities of the profession, highlighting the daily tasks, the problem-solving strategies, and the passion that drives success in this field. We are grateful for the opportunity to share our experiences with the students at the University of Iceland and are excited about the potential impact on the future generation of tech professionals. A big thank you to the university for inviting us, to the students for their enthusiasm and engagement, and to Sædís for representing our company with such expertise and passion. #UniversityOfIceland #ComputerScience #QualityAssurance #SoftwareQualityManagement #TechIndustry #FutureTechLeaders #TernSystems

Proud moments at Tern Systems as we take part in the #ENSURE project towards safer skies for all! Our work on integrating unmanned and conventional air traffic is setting new standards. Big thanks to our partners, HungaroControl - Hungarian Air Navigation Services and Unifly, for joining us on this innovative journey. Stay tuned for more breakthroughs!
The #ENSURE project is setting the pace for a seamless interface between unmanned and conventional air traffic✈️, ensuring safer skies for all. With the U-space ATM Interface, we are diving deep into how the Human-Machine Interface (#HMI) on the ATM side can revolutionise air traffic control operations. It is crucial to provide air traffic controllers (#ATCOs) with the right information, at the right time, fostering trust and enhancing decision-making. The ENSURE members from Tern Systems are tackling the challenges of #UTM integration head-on. Through workshops that blend creativity with practical insights from ATCOs, supervisors and drone operators🚁👤, they are pinpointing the crucial information needed to bridge the gap between manned and unmanned aircraft safely. The members of Tern Systems are sharing a glimpse into the progress with their exercise partners, HungaroControl - Hungarian Air Navigation Services and Unifly, with a screenshot from its ATM system Polaris✈️🖥️. It showcases our Picture-In-Picture tracking feature, highlighting the coexistence of multiple manned aircraft and a #UAS within the same airspace. We are excited about the journey ahead and the impact our solution will have on the industry. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to push the boundaries of what is possible within U-space and ATM! #SESARJU #DigitalSky #Workshop #Uspace #Drone #Integration #UAS
