Bioforcetech Italy Director Matteo Longo has implemented a new office team presentation every Friday where one or two team members present their work, goals achieved, and future goals to the rest of the team. This ensures everyone has the chance to learn new aspects of the Bioforcetech effort and about their colleagues' work. We can see Mirko Callegari, Modibo Fofana, Erald Adriatiku, Paolo Assi, Andy Truong, Pasquale Nicoletti, Diego Thieme, Luca Rovelli, Matteo Cherubin, Giada Maggiulli, Noemi Lombardo, and Stefano Redaelli all joining in!

We highly value team building, so the Italy team spent the day in Colico, Italy! between the lake and the mountains, they had a lot of fun. After a go-kart race, they had a nice local lunch and then a taste of local blueberries in the middle of nature, which we can see Matteo Longo, Mirko Callegari, Modibo Fofana, Erald Adriatiku, Paolo Assi, Andy Truong, Pasquale Nicoletti, Diego Thieme, Luca Rovelli, Matteo Cherubin, Noemi Lombardo all enjoyed!!

Bioforcetech has been working behind the scenes with the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Research Service (ARS) and power storage innovator florrent to understand how domestic agricultural biomass can be converted into carbons for power storage. These new forms of OurCarbon could help pave the way to domestic power infrastructure that draws down carbon in its production. Successfully scaling pyrolysis if biosolids is not easy, but it has led us to produce an extremely precise and highly engineered pyrolysis process with high emissions standards. Thanks to the OSU Global Hemp Innovation Center (GHIC), we will all be able to understand how this technology can be leveraged for new industries like power storage!
Utility. ‘Useful, especially through being able to perform several functions.’ Much is said about the many possible uses of hemp, so here is one of them. Like any organic material that is thus carbon based, hemp when heated under controlled temperature and oxygen conditions can be turned into biochar. That biochar has many uses such as a soil ammendment or when further treated can be made into activated carbon that is used in the manufacture of water and air filters or even in energy storage devices. To compare the utility of hemp to other common sources of plant-based carbon for use in supercapacitors, Global Hemp Innovation Center (GHIC) partners James McManus, PhD, MBA and William Orts with the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Research Service (ARS) Western Regional Research Center are teaming up with Garrett Benisch with Bioforcetech Corporation, a manufacturer of biochar, and Jose LaSalle, CEO of florrent, a supercapacitor innovation company based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. These three groups are working together to compare the utility of different hemp plant materials with other agricultural bioproducts to find the most effective activated carbon solution for florrent’s purposes. Garrett is shown below giving a tour of the BioForceTech facility near San Francisco during a recent planning meeting for the GHIC Sustainable Sustainable Agricultural Systems project recently funded by the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture, ‘Hemp-based Fiber Materials, Technology, and Commerce as Drivers for Northwest American Indian Tribal Economic Development.'

The Bioforcetech Italy team was a huge hit at Ecomondo 2024 by ECOMONDO - ITALIAN EXHIBITION GROUP presenting alongside our trusted partners and distributors in the Italy region Garzanti Specialties! Thousands of visitors came to our booth to understand the Bioforcetech system and OurCarbon's ability to decarbonize industry. If our technology and material wasn't enough to draw you in, our t shirts printed with Virus inks' RethINK Black certainly would! This ink is 100% water based and 80% Bio-based and fully tinted black with OurCarbon. As for the message... We'll leave it to you to translate 😉 💩 👕

Bioforcetech Corporation ha diffuso questo post
What gets us out of bed in the morning? This. Multiple supersacks of carbon negative OurCarbon waiting shipment to various projects in the Bay Area and beyond. This material will be durably stored in the built environment or put to work replacing fossil derived inputs to inks, coatings, polymers and more. It's a complete 180 from the original path for the input biosolids: landfill.

Look at this 'waste' at work! Model No. Furniture has installed their beautiful 3d printed planters, tables, and chairs, all colored black with OurCarbon, in the The Refinery at Domino in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Waste free, bio based luxury, black with OurCarbon... Our partner Model No. Furniture has installed their 3d printed bio-based, OurCarbon tinted furniture in the newly renovated The Refinery at Domino, a transformed 19th century factory that now houses 460,000 square feet of waterfront office space. The triple height public lobby is adorned with Model No.'s Esker Chairs, Avens Tables, and multiple arrangements of Biobenches as combination seating and planting space. If you're in NYC, stop by the Refinery right next to beautiful Domino Park to take a look at this beautiful install.

Bioforcetech BioDryers at work in Ephrata Pennsylvania! These dryers are up and running processing 1,000 tons per year of wet solids each to produce dry solids that go straight into pyrolysis to make OurCarbon. The BioDryer is a truly unique piece of drying equipment. Using the bacteria already present in the feedstock, these units can dry wet organics like biosolids at 30% of the standard external energy demand without sacrificing time. Why burn external fuel when all the power is waiting in the material itself? Now that's sustainable thinking.

Elena Sofia Cecconi and Sarka Havelkova are hard at work putting away spare parts that have arrived at our South San Francisco office for inventory! With so many installations going in at once, Elena, Sarka, and the rest of the team maintain a tightly managed organized system to ensure spare parts are ready the moment any replacement is needed at a site.
