It's the time of gatherings, heartwarming traditions, endless lunches & dinners (especially in Italy 🇮🇹🤌) and of course time to spend with family and friends! This year, instead of playing yet another board-game that ends in family disputes, why not sit down with the younger ones and become creative? Here are some ideas we put together where you can have fun, be creative and #repurpose cardboard at the same time! We call them the Ho-ho-holiday activities: 1. Cardboard Christmas Trees: Your Eco-Friendly Evergreen 📦🎄 Why chop down a tree when you can craft one that’ll stand tall and proud (without having the mess of needles all over the floor)? Gather up your cardboard boxes - from gifts, the local supermarket, your Black Friday orders - stack them (with or without a central pole), and voila! You've got yourself an eco-friendly Christmas tree that won't leave pine sap on your carpet. Dress it up with some homemade decorations, and you’re good to go! 2. Gift Boxes with a Twist 📦🎁 Who says wrapping paper is a must? This season, transform those abandoned cardboard boxes into striking gift packages. A touch of paint, maybe some (biodegradable) glitters mixed with your artistic talent and can turn any box into a masterpiece. 3. DIY Cardboard Ornaments 📦❄️☃️🦌 Cut cardboard into festive shapes—stars, snowflakes, reindeer—then let your inner Picasso go wild with paints and markers. Punch a hole, add a string, and these ornaments are ready to hang. Perfect for a crafty afternoon with kids or as personalized gifts! 4. Cardboard Gingerbread House 📦🍪🏚️ Who says a gingerbread house needs to be edible? With some imaginative cutting and strategic folding, your recycled cardboard can metamorphose into a non-traditional gingerbread house. Use paint to mimic icing and candies, and you've got a delightful centerpiece that won’t result in keeping the kids awake due to sugar rushes... These are just a few ways to pass time in a creative and eco-friendly way during the holidays! 📊 Some #statistics on the #sustainable #packaging market ♻️. Do you have any idea what the #reusable packaging market 📦 is worth today? Global Market Insights Inc.(GMI) valued it at USD 125.2 billion💰in 2023. Is this a lot? Well, yes it's a lot (more than our turnover for sure), but let's put it into #perspective. Towards Packaging estimated the total packaging market to be USD 1.23 trillion in '23. (that is 1.230.000.000.000 🤑) This implies that today only 🔟% of the total market is made of reusable packaging. So, in that sense, it's not that much ⬇. The good news is, GMI estimates the reusable packaging market to grow by a CAGR of over 6% for the coming years, to arrive at USD 214.3 billion in '32. If we compare that with the overall packaging market - estimate to grow at 3.2% CAGR - in 2032 the total share of reusable packaging will be over 13.5%. Still, this is surely not enough. Looking at some additional data from Fact.MR on #biodegradable packaging, we also see a growth in this area. From USD 84 billion in '21 to an estimated USD 169 billion in '32. This would be another 10,7% share on the total.  All in all, the "sustainable" packaging market share (reusable + biodegradable) will move from roughly 17.5% to over 2️⃣4️⃣% in 2032 (F). 🚨Excited for Black Friday🤑? We not so much... Before jumping into the shopping spree, we'd love to reflect on some elements that are not as fun as 30% off 💸💸... Every year, the impact Black Friday has on the environment🌍 is increasing and it's not small... Many facts & figures are available, we show you some of the ones that shocked us the most: → in the UK alone, the extra driving for Black Friday deliveries is equivalent to 215,000 cars on the road for a year 🏎️🏎️! GreenMatch estimates 400,000 tonnes of CO2 could be released this year 💨💨! → in the US, only taking into consideration the return 🔙 of unwanted items (!) uses over 1.2 billion gallons of diesel, which releases 12 million metric tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere (source: Optoro) → Green Alliance data show that up to 80% of the articles bought during Black Friday, including the packaging, is thrown away only after a few usages, many without ever being used 🎁🎁🎁! These are just of few of the many shocking numbers. Now, we don't want to tell you not to buy anything, we are all drawn into these massive discounts.
