Thanks to Data Science Milan, we had the opportunity to share the beginning of the collaborative journey that bridges data science and design to address real-world challenges. Last week, a group of our digital designers and a group of data scientists from the #AlkemyEvolutionHub came together to recount their co-creation experience, which led to #Flamel: a genuine solution aimed at providing reliable support. Flamel isn’t just a technical fix crafted with technical tools; it’s born from a commitment to open professional mindsets, listen, and learn, with the ultimate goal of simplifying everyday professional lives. It’s about merging skills and expanding perspectives to craft solutions that truly tackle real problems. Together, design and data can bring clarity and ease to complexity. We’re still at the start of this journey, but we’re thrilled to have had the chance to openly share our initial results with a group of engaged professionals eager to create and learn. Spreading and deepening the culture of design, giving voice to the protagonists of a system deeply rooted in the Lombardy region. This is the goal of Lombardia=Design, a series of events promoted by #ADILombardia. The second event of the program Lombardia=Design will take place on December 2 in Lecco. Titled “The Design of the Immaterial,” it will explore the design processes behind both physical and digital artifacts, a key theme in contemporary design. Alongside a group of distinguished speakers and colleagues, we will engage in discussions on how design can enable new ways of interaction between people and technology, while also serving as a vehicle for providing valuable services. The first LAB session of the 8th edition of the Observatory Design Thinking for Business, titled "The Power of Design in Framing Novelty", was a success. Our first collaboration with Service Design Drinks Milan was a success! Over 30 service designers gathered in our event space, the Kitchen, to connect, share, and informally discuss their visions for design thinking. Using a prompt as a starting point, the designers engaged in conversations around meaningful themes, including: - Future Change - Design for Peace - Family and Relationships - Cultural Views Service design is a powerful tool for empowering individuals and organizations to see the big picture, make informed decisions, and foster open dialogue. Service designers play a crucial role in mediation, facilitation, and negotiation, making opportunities like these for sharing and networking essential for generating positive energy and boosting motivation. Our colleague, Giulia Rutigliano, UX and UI Designer, recently returned to her alma mater, the Università di Trento, Department of Cognitive Sciences. Invited by her former professors, Giulia led a session in the Professional Development seminar for second-year students in the Interface and Communication Technologies program, guiding them as they prepare to enter the professional world. During her session, Giulia shared valuable insights from her career journey, addressing not only the "what" of her role as a UX Designer but also the "how" and "why." Reflecting on her daily work, projects, and the unique challenges and rewards of the industry, she provided students with “the answers I wish I’d received back then,” underscoring the importance of preparing thoroughly for the first interview and building a well-crafted, accurate portfolio. We’re delighted that the experience Giulia has gained at Design Group Italia played such a pivotal role in her presentation and we thank the University of Trento, renowned as Italy’s most historic in the field of sociology, and always continuing its mission to shape future professionals. #nextgeneration #experience #sharing #digitaldesign

Crossing competences brings intriguing results. Starting from a common curiosity to merge skills and create something tangible a group of our designers and a group of Data Scientist from the Alkemy AI Evolution Hub created #Flamel. Flamel is a trusted virtual help and an experimental solution that, leveraging on AI and Design Collaboration, evolves the employee knowledge sharing in a company organization.
