As studies continue to emerge, one thing is clear—choosing the right LAMS is more important than ever. [Article review] EUS-Guided LAMS for Pancreatic Fluid Collections - What the Latest Study Says : A systematic review & meta-analysis compared three types of lumen-apposing metal stents (LAMS)—Axios, Nagi, and Spaxus—for EUS-guided drainage of pancreatic fluid collections (PFCs). Key Findings (Pooled Results from 37 Studies, 3,074 Patients): ✅ Technical Success: Axios (97.7%), Nagi (96.9%), Spaxus (98.2%) ✅ Clinical Success: Axios (90.9%), Nagi (88.5%), Spaxus (93.5%) ⚠️ Adverse Events: Highest in Axios (20.4%), lowest in Spaxus (7.6%) ⚠️ Stent Migration: Highest in Nagi (7.8%), lowest in Spaxus (0.9%) ⚠️ Bleeding: Highest in Axios (7.0%), lowest in Spaxus (1.8%) Takeaway: All three LAMS show high success rates, but Spaxus had the lowest migration & complication rates. Choosing the right LAMS is key to optimizing patient outcomes. More head-to-head trials are needed to refine best practices.
