LCA and Sustainable Innovation In collaboration with the Department of Chemistry of the University of Turin, we analyzed the environmental impact of our thermomechanical devulcanization process for EPDM using the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). This research demonstrated how our process allows to: Reduce environmental impacts in 8 key categories, including climate change and resource consumption. Promote a circular economy by transforming waste into high-quality materials. 📚 Thanks to this academic collaboration, we have deepened the sustainability of our processes, consolidating Maris' commitment to a greener future. 👉 Discover the results in the latest issue of the Maris Journal: https://lnkd.in/d82q3TZs and in the scientific article we published https://lnkd.in/d4SbSiBM

Devulcanization: Innovation for Sustainability Since 2008, Maris has developed and refined a continuous, thermomechanical process for rubber devulcanization without the use of chemical agents, solvents, or supercritical CO2. 🔬 Our process allows us to: ✔️ Limit the degradation of the material's backbone. ✔️ Transform vulcanized rubber into a high-quality second raw material. ✔️ Reuse up to 50-70% of the devulcanized material in the same applications as virgin material. With our extensive experience, we have treated a wide range of vulcanized rubbers, adapting the process to the specific chemical and physical characteristics of each material. 👉 Discover how Maris is turning waste into new opportunities!

POM Production with Reactor Extruders Since the late 1980s, Maris has refined the use of co-rotating twin-screw extruders as true chemical reactors, designed for the continuous polymerization of acetal resin (POM). The Process Includes: 1️⃣ Chemical Reaction: Liquid monomers (trioxane, dioxolane) are transformed into crystalline polymer inside the first extruder, acting as a chemical reactor. 2️⃣ Intermediate Treatment: The polymer powder is ground, dried, and its catalyst is deactivated. 3️⃣ Stabilization and Granulation: In the second extruder, POM undergoes vacuum degassing using special pumps to remove unstable fractions, ensuring high-quality granules. 💡 Results: Several lines have been installed near chemical plants for continuous raw material supply, achieving outstanding performance in the industry. 👉 Visit our website and learn how reactive extrusion can revolutionize industrial processes! www.mariscorp.com #Maris #POMProduction #Extruders #Maintenance

At Maris, innovation meets sustainability.  We have developed an advanced process for recycling cross-linked and cross-linked foam polyolefins, allowing production waste to be recovered and reintroduced into the same production cycle. 🔬 The key to the process lies in the selective breaking of cross-links while avoiding degradation of the polymer backbone. This ensures high-quality plastomeric materials ready for reuse. 🚛 Thanks to the forced feeder system, even materials with very low bulk density can be efficiently fed into the extruder, maximizing process efficiency. 👉 Discover how technology and sustainability come together in our production processes!
