Chi siamo

FLEEP is the sustainable electronics solution for flexible, transparent and recyclable electronics. We are a spin-off project of the Italian Institute of Technology developing flexible integrated circuits and systems. We employ only carbon-based materials making our electronics devices recyclable, mechanically flexible and ultra-thin. We apply our technology to the biomedical devices and packaging industries. 😡 What's WRONG with Printed Electronics? In the article just published on Nature Reviews Electrical Engineering I put into words my experience in trying (and failing!) to scale-up a printed electronics technology and highlighted some of the key problems. Check it out here: https://lnkd.in/ds_Qdpq3 💬 In the article I summarized a few, non-technical, systemic obstacles that pose a clear threat to the scale-up of this technology. While printed electronics has an incredible disruptive potential, it still struggles to take off. Check some of the takeaways in the carousel below! ⏭ The topic is far from being fully covered and would deserve more in-depth analysis. The intent, however, is to leave a clear outline of the things you definitely need to pay attention to when you want to take your printed, flexible, and organic electronics technology to the moon, and with some advice for investors and startuppers. 🔔 If you want to know more or would like to discuss further, do not hesitate to contact me privately. #printedelectronics #flexibleelectronics #organicelectronics #scaleup #startup

  • 🥳 Great news! We were awarded the OE-A Competition 2024 Best Prototype / New Product award at LOPEC 💡The product we presented is a Period After Opening (PAO) Time tracker integrating a Printed IC realized with our proprietary OPDK integrating more than 1000 transistors, responsible for checking the status of a bottle opening sensor. At activation, it keeps track or the time passed since opening, decoding the information to a 7 segment EPD diplay. All is powered by a printed battery, with the whole system consuming less than 500 nW. ⏰This active PAO system is made to track time since opening a package, specifically suited to the pharma, cosmetic and food packaging. With a total thickness less than 250um, the electronic functionality can be easily hidden below a printed overlay. Go check the prototype on display at OE-A booth at LOPEC #printedelectronics

🥳 Well well well! We won the OE-A Competition 2024 for Best Prototype/New Product at LOPEC 🙌 We thank the jury for the awesome recognition and we are happy that our approach to fully printed systems on chip, based on our printed CMOS OTFT platform, was recognized by industry and academy leaders of OE-A (Organic and Printed Electronics Association) 💡The product we presented is a Period After Opening (PAO) Time tracker integrating a Printed IC designer with our proprietary OPDK and manufactured in our facilities, integrating more than 1000 transistors.
