🌍 AI Discovers Hidden Archeological Sites in the Arabian Peninsula 🏺 Researchers in the Arabian Peninsula are shaking up archaeology by combining Artificial Intelligence (AI) with surface aperture radar (SAR) technology. The result? AI is now identifying potential excavation sites across the vast Rub Al-Khali desert – the "Empty Quarter." No more endless wandering in the dunes hoping for a lucky break! Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi led the way by training AI models on data from the SaruqAl-Hadid Archaeology Museum Al-Hadid site, making it possible to detect hidden artifacts where shifting sands and wind patterns once obscured them. Max Planck Institute researchers are now applying similar methods in Mongolia, revealing thousands of new potential sites. From deserts to ancient steppe landscapes, AI is helping to uncover lost civilizations. And as AI becomes more intertwined with advanced technologies like quantum computing, we have to wonder: what other secrets could be hiding in plain sight, just waiting to be revealed? Could entire industries be on the verge of breakthrough discoveries with the right tools? This week, we had the pleasure of participating and presenting our startup at the Quantum Computing Annual Meeting, ICSC - Spoke 10 (National Centre of HPC, Big Data, and Quantum Computing), held at Politecnico di Milano. The event was rich in insightful speeches and offered a unique blend of academia and industry, showcasing the collaboration needed to truly push the boundaries of quantum technology.
