At #ghd, we are committed to creating a better future and for a second year running, we’re delighted to be supporting our global volunteering programme, good care day. 🤍 During the traditional Chinese Lantern Festival, our ghd China team joined a heart warming event at a local senior nursing home to bring joy and companionship to elderly residents. The team helped to make Lantern Festival dumplings (Tangyuan), provided haircuts and together decorated the premises with lanterns, couplets, and festive ornaments. 🏮 The event resonated deeply with both our ghd volunteers and the seniors present. Many shared touching reflections, reminisced about childhoods and late family members. The overwhelming enthusiasm confirmed the value of such initiatives. We are so proud to share that our ghd team in China have made a commitment to collaborating with the nursing home on a regular basis, aiming to improve community impact and will look to expand the program to involve families and business partners moving forward. One team visited Hijas de la Caridad at their soup kitchen in Madrid and another to the Mechones Solidarios foundation in Málaga, helping to provide wigs to those in need. "It has been a wonderful experience and a pleasure to collaborate and help in such a beautiful and necessary cause" - Silvia Corazón González, ghd Premium Retail Area Manager and volunteer at Hijas de la Caridad. "There is so much work to do, and it’s nice to learn about the work they do. At #ghd, we are committed to creating a better future and for a second year running, we’re delighted to be supporting our global volunteering programme, good care day. 🤍 In Germany, the team supported several organisations in different cities for their good care day volunteering. Two of the charities included: Stadtteilbauernhof Stuttgart: An after-school care centre/farm for flexible care, creativity, freedom and contact with animals. The ghd team helped the centre with general  maintenance including painting, feeding animals and helping to clean the stables. HAIR HELP the Oceans: For the second charity, the team supported Hair Help the Oceans in Heidelberg, Leipzig & Linz by collecting hair waste from salons to donate. The donated hair is repurposed into mats that help clean up oil spill in the ocean, this contributes to environmental protection and awareness about sustainable waste management.
