🫒 How digital technology is revolutionizing the sustainable cultivation of olive groves 🇪🇸 Last week, we participated in the 10th IOBC-WPRS meeting on Integrated Protection of Olive Crops held in Baeza, Spain. 📲 Emiliana Carotenuto, Digital Agronomist Fruit Trees Crops at Horta srl, presented our work on the development, validation, and practical use of our DSS for sustainable management of olive groves. 🌍 In 2023, the system was used in Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Greece, enabling the sustainable management of about 8,000 hectares of olive groves! 📈 The benefits for farmers? 1️⃣ Optimization of crop management 2️⃣ Savings on agricultural inputs (a 50% reduction in treatments against olive leaf spot over two seasons) 3️⃣ Transparency and traceability of agricultural operations #sustainability #agriculture #regenerativeagriculture #olives #DSS #agtech
