TUBACEX Joins the Expanded @IBEX ESG Index TUBACEX will be part of the IBEX ESG Index starting September 23, alongside Aena, Elecnor Group, IAG, Grupo Lar, NEINOR HOMES, and Puig, expanding the index to 49 members. This decision was made by the IBEX Technical Advisory Committee, reflecting a stronger focus on companies excelling in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria. This update, reported today by BME | Bolsas y Mercados Españoles, marks a significant step forward in showcasing corporate sustainability in Spain. TUBACEX’s inclusion aligns with our “Ambition 2030” sustainability strategy, part of our #NT2 Strategic Plan focused on driving the energy transition. The IBEX ESG Index, recognizes organizations like ours for their transparency, innovation, and commitment to sustainable practices. The French nuclear industry stands as a global benchmark, controlling the entire nuclear energy production chain, from uranium extraction to spent fuel reprocessing. Nuclear power remains a crucial energy source in combating global warming, and with this conviction, companies within the sector unite under GIFEN to build the French nuclear industry of today and tomorrow. GIFEN collaborates with EDF to ensure the long-term sustainability of the supply chain, a strategic issue for EDF. One significant challenge is the loss of nuclear knowledge within the sector. EDF is responsible for maintaining a workload in its supply chain that allows for investments and the hiring of trained and young personnel. It is estimated that in the next 10 years, approximately 100,000 new jobs will be needed in the nuclear sector. GIFEN rises to the challenge and works together with EDF on action plans to ensure that the supply chain develops the necessary capabilities in its personnel. This is a long-term challenge that can only be successfully met in partnership with EDF, establishing collaborative ties for all upcoming projects (6+8 units in France, 2+2 units in England, in addition to the projects bidding in Eastern Europe). This year’s GIFEN´s event, called "Journées Perspectives de la Filière" held on June 18th and 19th, offered optimal conditions for networking, presenting industry advancements, sharing visions from major operators, and creating business opportunities. TUBACEX was proud to participate alongside with GNMS, contributing to the vibrant discussions and collaborations.
