Celebrating 20 years in business, Italy’s premiere destination management company. #icbellagio #italyexperts

Chi siamo

Industry veteran Andrea Grisdale founded Italian Connection Bellagio in 1999, using her experience in the travel industry to create tailor-made Italian experiences for a select group of discerning clients. Now, after twenty years in the business, IC Bellagio has become Italy’s premiere destination management company, serving thousands of clients each year and winning awards and accolades from such prestigious organizations as Conde Nast, Travel + Leisure, Virtuoso and Wendy Perrin. It’s all about the client at IC Bellagio: Andrea’s team of destination specialists are great listeners. They know how to turn a client’s dream of Italy into a workable itinerary, providing villa rentals, event planning, chauffeur driven tours and transfers, distinctive luxury accommodation and bespoke trip planning. A lot of energy, passion and on-site legwork go into sourcing – and testing – offbeat, non-Googleable experiences across Italy. IC Bellagio only sells destinations and activities that actually live up to the hype: from a private fashion show in one of Milan's couture ateliers to truffle hunting in the Piedmont. And if clients need to modify their itinerary, deal with an emergency or just find a sympathetic ear, they have 24/7 access to their own personal Guest Ambassador for the duration of the trip. IC Bellagio’s passion for Italy goes beyond destination management. In addition to Villa dei Sogni, their own luxury villa overlooking Lake Como, the company recently opened Palazzo del Vice Re, a geographically privileged boutique property in the lakeside village of Lezzeno. And giving something back to the community has always been a core company principle: non-profit work for organizations like the revitalization initiative ProLezzeno and our charity work with Cani Guida Limbiate, who work to train and provide 50 guide dogs for the blind per year.

I try to always walk gracious and kind. It's easy in this business to get jaded, used to where we're laying our heads most nights of the year. I love it; but I never want to get used to it. The suite I'm typing from is not lost on me that most will never see. It's the business I stumbled into nearly 13 years ago stemmed from a loved mashup of travel, writing, photography, and an insatiable appetite to see feel touch the world. I give thanks each night for a lot of things, following the crumbs of curiosity to here, wherever here may be any given day of the year, tops. Last big work trip of 2024, back in Italy visiting some favorite hotels & hoteliers on Lake Como. Also visiting my local partners who've long assisted me in collaborating with my clients' travels through Italy, to thank them in person, with a hug, and presence. I always say that I don't have a team, I don't have employees. That's true; but what I do have are trusted partners like these in every nation on earth, who are an extension of me in any given destination. Congratulations IC Bellagio on 25 Years of being the very best at what you do for guests visiting experiencing tasting this country, I'll be there in spirit in Imola this weekend. Thank you / Grazie mille. w/ Andrea Grisdale.

DMC's (Destination Management Companies) - What Exactly do they do? When should Travel Advisors reach out and What is the Secret Recipe to ensure the perfect Experience for our Travelers. Thank you Jamie Biesiada Emma Weissmann and Travel Weekly for inviting me to join you on this podcast to discuss the Role of the DMC and how we can best support Travel Advisors by working side by side with them to create the best possible Experience for our Travelers. Not only did we speak about DMC's in general and the difference between DMC's and Tour Operators we also discussed the importance of having very clear roles in the process and how detailed information about each traveler is so important to enable us to truly personalize the trip around their likes, preferred pace, interests, how they want to split their time between organized experiences and time to explore at leisure, the kind of hotels that would be most suitable, how comfortable the travelers would be dining with a local family in their home (or otherwise) not forgetting of course number of nights, how many times they wish to change destination/hotel during their trip and least but certainly not least what budget do they have in mind. One thing I always seek to highlight is that the role of a DMC is not simply to use their knowledge, know how and network to create an amazing experience for our guests but it is also about using their time and money efficiently too. As a DMC in Italy one of my favorite questions to travelers is 'Why did you choose Italy this year' .. whilst this is one of my favorite questions - my personal favorite part of the trip planning is when we have the opportunity to organize a Zoom/Teams call with the Travel Advisors and the Traveler. Not only does this give us a deeper insight regarding expectations it also gives us the opportunity to answer many questions at the beginning of the Trip Planning Stage - all of which add up to enhancing the experience even further. #icbellagio #itsallaboutthepeople #travelweekly #dmc #dmcitaly #slowseasontravel #slowseason https://lnkd.in/dwxKeW-u
