Italian Premium Textiles and Circularity since 1943.
Chi siamo
Founded in 1941 by Enzo Anacleto Mantellassi, Manteco® began as a small spinning mill dedicated to producing recycled wool yarns from old military clothing and blankets. By 1943, the company expanded into woven textiles, maintaining its commitment to circularity and sustainability from the start. Over the decades, Manteco® has evolved into a benchmark in the fashion industry, celebrated for its creativity, innovation, and sustainable practices. Our dedication to research and investment has led to pioneering textile solutions that integrate a scientific approach to sustainability. Manteco® is fully certified and proudly produces 100% in Tuscany through MSystem, our specialized, zero-mile, fully traced, transparent, and certified supply chain comprising over 56 partner textile companies. Manteco® champions circular fashion, striving to prevent value leakages along the supply chain. Our Zero-Waste system recovers all wool industrial waste, and our Sustainable Design philosophy ensures the creation of durable and recyclable wool textiles. Innovative initiatives like Project43 and Project53 recycle wool fabric offcuts and unsold garments. We also introduce our own brands of sustainable wool: - MWool®: The next generation of recycled wool, made from pre- and post-consumer wool garments and scraps, colored without added dyes through our Recype® technique. - ReviWool®: Low-impact virgin wool crafted from valuable co-product fibers from the worsting process, transforming waste into premium textiles. Our relentless pursuit of sustainability has earned Manteco® membership in the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s Network and partnership with the Monitor for Circular Fashion by SDA Bocconi. Not to mention 'The Climate Action' award at the 2023 Sustainable Fashion Awards by CNMI. ✨ 23KU x #Manteco, together for a reduced impact #luxury Our long-standing partnership with the japanese brand continues to give life to high-quality garments that are elegant, durable, and more and more #sustainable. Their new #coats are made with #Pure®, our finest #RecycledWool fabric, composed entirely of #MWool® fibers, designed to guarantee the same performance, feel, and appearance as virgin wool fabrics, but with extremely reduced impacts. Using MWool® fabrics means eliminating the need to use new wool by making the most of what’s already been produced, with a low impact process, as they are made by mechanically recycling post-consumer garments and pre-consumer leftovers. Compared to generic virgin wool fibers, this circular fiber impacts 99,2% less on climate change, 99,9% less on water use and 93,3% less on total energy consumption. #SustainableFabrics #ResponsibleFashion #MadeInItaly #CircularEconomy

📢 #MWool® and #ReviWool® now on Carbonfact! 💯 If you are using #Carbonfact for your sustainability evaluations, then you'll be happy to hear that, from now on, our fibers, MWool® and ReviWool®, will be there 📌 Perform more precise carbon footprint measurements for products made with Manteco’s wool materials! For example, if you are producing wool coats and jackets with our fabrics, you can now measure the environmental impact of MWool® or ReviWool®, instead of relating it to conventional #RecycledWool or #VirginWool, respectively, leading to more precise insights. 📌 Compare materials more accurately, and model emissions reductions across products! If you don’t use our materials yet, you can now simulate the environmental impact of switching from conventional recycled wool or virgin wool to MWool® or ReviWool®. For example, when designing a new collection, you could model the carbon emissions of a coat made with MWool® or ReviWool®, allowing for a side-by-side comparison with a coat made from conventional recycled wool or virgin wool, providing a clear basis for eco-conscious material selection. 💥 We are pretty sure all this will make your sustainability evaluations and projects WAY EASIER than before! #Manteco #MadeInItaly #CircularEconomy #ResponsibleFashion #CircularFashion #ReduceReuseRecycle
