We are pleased to announce the launch of Spectra-BREAST EU, a European project funded under the Horizon Europe #EIC #Pathfinder program. The project aims to develop innovative #multimodal technology for semi-automatic and objective assessment of #tumor resection #margins during #breast-conserving surgery. By integrating #hyperspectral_imaging (HSI), fiber-optic #Raman_spectroscopy (RS), and #AI_based data analysis, the project seeks to significantly improve surgical outcomes and reduce reoperation rates for breast cancer patients. Spectra-BREAST EU is led by ICS Maugeri SpA Società Benefit research hospital, in collaboration with three academia - Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche CNR IFN, Politecnico di Milano Physics - Politecnico di Milano, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid - and with two high-tech companies: RiverD and NIREOS.
