CUSTOMER: Groupe Hospitalier Nord Essonne ARCHITECT / DESIGNER: SCAU Architecture PHOTOGRAPHER: Jad Sylla The Paris-Saclay hospital complex enriches the Essonne region, west of Paris, with the aim of developing a center of research excellence while simultaneously strengthening the local healthcare network, and is part of a High Environmental Quality (HQE - Haute Qualité Environnementale) certification plan, emphasizing sustainability and environmental care. Lighting is fully integrated into this approach. All external lighting was carried out by our company. THEOS GLASS MINI street lights were used to secure the parking lots and access roads to the site. The walkways and green spaces were illuminated using MIMIK 10 POST bollards and TYK+ 10 architectural floodlights, enhancing and defining spaces and volumes. The temperature management of the indoor areas is possible, among other things, by recovering the energy produced by the site's operation and connecting to the low-carbon urban heating network, which offers 60% renewable energy. Additionally, to better integrate into the environment and improve the living comfort of the occupants, the surroundings of the hospital are surrounded by a green belt. Thus, the site combines better energy and consumption management without neglecting the living comfort of patients, families, and hospital staff.

Sustainability is not an abstract value but a concrete purpose. At least, that's how we see it. This is why we want to share our results. In 2023, we took another step forward, reducing waste production by 2.5%, compared to 2022. Moreover, 97% of waste are non-hazardous. An excellent result that motivates us to improve even more.

PHOTOGRAPHER: Fabiana Calvà Bringing light deep into the mountain to reveal the natural beauty hidden for millennia, this objective was reached through the use of GUELL series professional floodlights to illuminate the Frasassi cave in Genga, province of Ancona. The original lighting system had deteriorated due to the difficult environmental conditions and it was necessary to completely replace the technologically obsolete luminaires with new LED luminaires capable of guaranteeing greater durability and luminous efficiency. Correctly illuminating an extreme environment with 98% humidity presents several design challenges. Products that are resistant, performing, reliable and safe are required. CUSTOMER: Sportpaleis Alkmaar ELECTRICIAN: Van der Laan PHOTOGRAPHER: Ronald Auée In close cooperation with Van der Laan and Sportpaleis Alkmaar, we replaced the lighting for the indoor cycling track in Alkmaar. The cycling track was equipped with about 150 HPI 400 watt lamps. The Alkmaar Sportpaleis had the requirement of 500 lux on the track with an uniformity of 0,7. To meet this requirement, the traditional luminaires have been replaced by 72 dimmable luminaires GUELL 2.5 of 238 watts. Thanks to the LED luminaires, switching rapidly is now possible and, of course, energy is also saved.
