Design leader, coach, speaker, author. PhD in service design for organisational change. Expert on Customer Journey Frameworks. Editor of Design Mavericks on Substack.

In the next couple of weeks, I'll be busy with a few events for my book tour, a mix of face-to-face and online events: 🇮🇹 🌍 Today, I'll join a live Instagram event with the folks of Service Design Drinks Milan 🇳🇱 Next Monday, December 2nd, I'll be at TU Delft | Industrial Design Engineering to present the book together with the fabulous Giulia Calabretta, co-author of the book Design Leadership Ignited. 🇨🇦 🌎 Next Thursday, December 5th, I'll discuss key takeaways from the book at the Service Design Book Club with the one and only Arun Joseph Martin. 🇳🇱 Finally, before breaking for the holidays, I'll present the book to IKEA employees face-to-face in Amsterdam together with one of the leaders featured in the book, the visionary Peter Brook. Employees will gather face-to-face in other hubs in Sweden and Spain and connect with Amsterdam via video. That will be a fun experiment. Follow the news on the book tour page. New dates are added regularly. If you'd like me to come and present the book to your internal team of leaders or designers, drop me a line! Link: https://lnkd.in/ed9RGwkr

Last week, as a proud community partner, we joined Product Management Day, the event dedicated to product design organized by GrUSP. Manfredi C. and Reeti Agarwal, from the Service Design Drinks Milano team, shared their top five takeaways to inspire and elevate your product practices: 1- MVPs as Strategic Assets Build a minimal product, test core assumptions, and iterate quickly. Don't waste resources on unnecessary features. 2- Data-Driven Roadmaps Over Gut Feeling Effective product roadmaps are grounded in data. Real insights beat intuition, turning user feedback and metrics into strategic choices. 3- Sustainability as a Core Requirement Designing sustainable products is a business imperative, not a luxury. Integrate Eco-conscious choices from day one. 4- Cross-Functional Collaboration for Breakthroughs Real innovation flourishes when Product, Tech, and Marketing operate seamlessly. Breaking down silos accelerates both learning and impact.   5- Turning Failure into Insights through Continuous Discovery Mistakes aren't setbacks; they're opportunities to delve deeper into user needs. Continuous discovery empowers us to align our product with user problems. See you at the next edition ✨

Last Wednesday we enjoyed an Unconference evening, hosted by our friends of Design Group Italia. It was an opportunity to share our thoughts and feelings about Conflict, discussing the following topics: 1. Design for peace and the role of service design, 2. Family and relationships, 3. The Future, and 4. Multiculturalism. Thank you to our hosts for welcoming us, to Birra Flea for refreshing us, to our collaborators for making this night happen, and to our participants, who are the protagonists of this format. See you next time!
