💡 Innovation and education converge in Catania! On Wednesday, November 13, Alberto Colzani, Senior MMIC designer of SIAE MICROELETTRONICA, conducted an academic lecture at Collegio Alcantara as part of the training school “New Trends in the Applications of Photonics” The seminar, titled “Microelectronics Solutions for Millimeter-Wave High-Performance 5G Backhaul”, focused on the pivotal role of microelectronics in enabling high-performance 5G networks through millimeter-wave backhaul solutions. A description of the E-band and D-band frequency spectrum and future radio architecture focusing on the technologies that allow the realization of these products. In particular, internally designed SIP (System in Package) and MMIC (Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits) are key enabling technologies that allow to meet the challenging specification of 5G radio systems.
