  • 🎉 Celebratory mood at Neue Materialien Bayreuth GmbH (NMB), our partner in the #wiseON and #AutoSmooth (#ColdMetalFusion) research projects: The SLS demo factory, a pioneering real-world laboratory for powder-based 3D plastic printing, has now been opened in the NMB technology centre. We had a lot of fun talking to the young experts and were very happy to give them an insight into our work. The main questions were: 💡 Why do we even need post processing in additive manufacturing? 💡 What is the difference between mandatory and optional post-processing? The Master's students were then allowed to try it out for themselves: In our AM Solutions CEC (Customer Experience Centre), they blasted or ground workpieces and “felt” the surface quality of the parts after different processing times. 👌 Finally, there was a tour of our company premises and a joint lunch with time for personal discussions and networking.
