A training seminar was held in late #October for the Technical Team at #SomecNavale, focusing on corrosion protection for steel, galvanized steel, on aluminum structures through advanced coating techniques, and on a suitable design approach. The session covered key industry standards and processes, including European standards #EN1090 and #ISO12944 and international quality labels such as #QUALISTEELCOAT and #QUALICOAT for ensuring top-tier coating performance. All the major steps impacting the quality and durability of painted components were explored, from principles to process cycles, as well as material acceptance criteria, surface preparation, corrosion mechanisms and quality inspections of painted final components supplied to Somec Navale. Deck 5 lobby conversion was a collaborative success with sister company Navaltech. 🌍 Ashore: The new #MSC Terminal at Port #Miami is nearing completion, set to become the world's largest cruise terminal. With a $450 million investment, it is designed to handle up to 36,000 #passengers daily and accommodate three cruise ships simultaneously. The terminal features state-of-the-art shore power connectivity, allowing docked ships to reduce emissions by using land-based electrical power.
