The design for Italy at the Frankfurter Buchmesse 2024 has been inspired by the idea of the square as the driving force behind the Italian city, inviting visitors to the event to discover the latest editorial and literary news while moving between the tables, porticoes and the entrance halls of a square. Gruppo Saviola supported the design of the Italian pavilion at the #Buchmesse with the ecological plaque made of regenerated wood.

“The heart and soul of our cities and our country, the square is a place of freedom of thought and expression: you can pass through it to reach a point of interest, stop, sit, attend an event, demonstrate to defend a right, read a book or just have a rest and imagine the daily life that took place there in past eras. The square we have designed is not only a place in which to explore the latest editorial and literary news, but also to rediscover the value of meeting, dialogue and conviviality” #stefanoboeri Italy at the Frankfurter Buchmesse 2024

The Italian Pavilion, the guest of honor at the Frankfurt Fair 2024, is presented as a tribute to historic Italian piazzas, emblematic spaces where culture is intertwined with history. Designed by studio Stefano Boeri Interiors on behalf of Special Commissioner Mauro Mazza, the pavilion covers an area of about 2,300 square meters, transforming itself into a vibrant meeting point for Italian, German and international participants. The space is distinguished by its monumental structure characterized by a series of columns in classical architectural styles. Also featuring elegant arcades, the pavilion includes an Arena, the beating heart of events, and a Literary Café, a place for a free exchange of ideas. More than 80 events will be held here, giving voice to more than 90 authors. #francoforte #buchmesse #italy

After 36 years, #Italy returns as Guest of Honour at the Frankfurter Buchmesse, the largest and most important event in the world of publishing, which this year will be held from 16th to 20th October 2024. For this edition, the #StefanoBoeriInteriors studio was commissioned by Extraordinary Commissioner #MauroMazza to design the layout of space dedicated to Italian cultural heritage and publishing. The rooms designed for the Italian pavilion, which all open onto the main square, are distinguished by different functions, colours and specific exhibition features which have also been designed to help visitors get their bearings. In line with the theme “Roots in the future”, the design of the Italian pavilion is inspired by the idea of the square as the driving force behind the Italian city, inviting visitors to the event to discover the latest editorial and literary news while moving between the tables, porticoes and the entrance halls of a square.
