Artificial intelligence (AI) may today be an everyday tool for the many, but what is the best approach when AI is being incorporated into an ongoing business? We asked one of our experts, Francesco Artusi, System & Digitalisation Development Director, to explain how Swegon embraces this innovative technology and how he sees the company making valuable use of AI, today and tomorrow. We are honoured to be this year's winners of the "Future award for energy efficiency", announced by the Swedish industry organisation for energy efficiency companies, Eneff.  The award motivation highlighted our technical innovations and cross-industry collaborations as ways to demonstrate how energy efficiency and sustainability can be combined to drive long-term change. This was further exemplified by mentioning our adaptive defrost control (RECOfrost) and RE:create. "One of our mottos over the years has been to deliver ‘the best possible indoor climate with the lowest possible energy consumption.’ This has shaped our company and our customer offers. Our commitment to sustainability continues. We are excited to share the release of the second set of environmental product declarations of units in the range of non-residential cooling and heating products. OMICRON Zero is a series of polyvalent units in the heat pump segment, a series which is now fully covered in terms of EPD’s. The environmental product declarations are categorized as follows: - EPD 1: Sizes 5.2, 6.2, 7.2, 8.2 - EPD 2: Sizes 10.4, 12.4, 14.4 - EPD 3: Sizes 16.4, 18.6, 20.6, 22.6 These EPDs share valuable insights into the CO2-equivalent emissions generated both during the production process and the product’s usage. Swegon signs agreement to acquire German air handling unit manufacturer HOWATHERM Swegon has signed an agreement to acquire HOWATHERM Klimatechnik GmbH, a family-owned manufacturer of modular air handing units, based in Brücken, Germany.  “With this acquisition, we strengthen our position on the German HVAC market, the largest market for air handling units in Europe. With their long history of technical know-how, HOWATHERM’s modular air handling units will be a strong complement to our current product portfolio.  Combined with their innovative spirit and focus on quality we see a perfect fit between our two organizations. We are taking our RE:3 concept to the next level, RE:3 is our umbrella concept for product offerings with a lower built-in carbon footprint, it is short for RE:duce, RE:use and RE:vitalise and it is a foundation for our journey towards a more sustainable business model. We are now levelling up RE:use and our ambition is clear: we aim to streamline the reuse of technical installations on an industrial scale - in our case, our indoor climate products. The goal is to utilise the products’ full operational lifespan by offering them to the market as reused, with similar conditions as newly manufactured units, but with a significantly reduced climate footprint. Today, our owner Investment AB Latour published the interim report for Q3 2024. Swegon highlights: - The strong order intake in the first six months was followed by a slightly weaker third quarter, although Cooling & Heating, Services and some other segments continued to deliver healthy growth. - Net sales showed a positive trend during the quarter with organic growth in most segments, especially in Cooling & Heating, Smoke & Fire, Services and North America. - Profitability remained at a good level, mainly due to positive gross margin development. - The Dutch company HC Groep was acquired during the quarter. After a fire in 2018, the Maison de Quartier community center in Portet-sur-Garonne, France, was reimagined with both old and new elements. The goal was not only to restore, but to build an environment where people could connect, create and feel good inside. Given the wide range of activities, from dance to meetings, ensuring a comfortable and adaptable indoor climate was key. We provided four GOLD air handling units and our WISE system for demand controlled ventilation. The AHU including features like ReCO2 recycling for energy efficiency and WISE comprising waterborne room units for quiet, effective heating and cooling. All in all, a solution designed to ensure that the indoor climate always adjusts to the activity and occupancy inside, and which makes careful consideration to the season outside.
