The Merchant of Venice è un marchio di lusso culturale nato a Venezia dalla volontà della Famiglia Vidal operante nel settore della profumeria a livello internazionale da più di un secolo. The Merchant of Venice rappresenta l'Arte Profumatoria Veneziana. Rimarca il ruolo di capostipite che la città ebbe nella tradizione profumiera mondiale e si propone di valorizzare la lunga tradizione che ha reso l'Italia, e in particolare Venezia, uno dei principali centri della storia della profumeria. The Merchant of Venice è una linea lusso che si articola in una vasta gamma di esclusivi Eau de Parfum e Eau de Toilette, accompagnati da prodotti per la persona, per l'ambiente e accessori. Tale linea è ispirata alle “Mude”, rotte navali che collegavano un territorio vastissimo, che andava dall'Oriente all'Africa e a tutta l'Europa fino ai mari del Nord. Le “Mude” partivano da Venezia e raggiungevano porti che a loro volta erano la destinazione di altre vie commerciali: qui avveniva un complesso interscambio tra materie prime e prodotti finiti. In questo modo la Serenissima riusciva a raggiungere conoscenze e materie prime che nel proprio territorio non sarebbe altrimenti stata in grado di procurare direttamente, e attraverso abilissimi artigiani( i muschieri insieme ai venditori de polvere di Cipro e ai saoneri) inventava nuove tecniche di produzione che rendevano i profumi e i cosmetici veneziani ambiti in tutte le corti europee dell'epoca.

  • #Culture and #perfumery merged into a unique #event, connecting two #countries that are distant in geography but close in #heritage and shared #values. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐕𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐉𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐧 was held at the 𝐈𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐨𝐤𝐲𝐨, a historic residence in the heart of the city, with a garden dating back to Japan’s Edo Period, where the fragrance dedicated to the iconic 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐬 was unveiled.   We are honored to have shared this special setting with key industry figures, leading international publications, and representatives from top department stores, such as the Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings— with whom we attended the latest edition of 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐟𝐮𝐦, celebrating the launch of Callas with perfume #enthusiasts and #influencers in a #masterclass on Maria Callas, led by CEO Marco Vidal and perfumer Yann Vasnier.   • On September 17th, in the middle of 𝗩𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗚𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰, was exhibited for the first time to the public 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 by The Merchant of Venice in collaboration with the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia. In the evocative the Museum of 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘇𝘇𝗼 𝗠𝗼𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗼, 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀, 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗺𝗲, the city is celebrated through the union of some of elements that define it: the #art of #glass, artistic #perfumery and #architecture. The result is three essential oil fragrances that encapsulate the unique soul of Venice. The bottle was ideated by designer Michela Cattai and brought to life by Venetian #artisans. The glass masters of Murano have put into practice ancient techniques of the art of blown glass, in which Venice has specialized since antiquity. The essential oil is kept in a glass box that reminds to the peculiarities of Venetian architecture, while the process of creating fragrances is inspired by an old recipe from the Regale Unguentum of Plinio il Vecchio. #Tradition, #culture, #art and #luxury come together to create a unique collection where #MadeinItaly is at its best. During the presentation at the Palazzo Mocenigo Museum, the CEO of The Merchant of Venice Marco Vidal and the designer Michela Cattai talked about the creative project from the concept to the actual Nectars. The collection is a 𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 that varies in 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿𝘀 (amber, red and green), having fifty pieces crafted for each shade, and three fragrances -𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗮𝗿, 𝗿𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗹 𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗮𝗿 and 𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗰𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗮𝗿. The oils are very concentrated and give the skin a unique, intense and unmistakable scent. The Merchant of Venice has captured the #beauty and #energy of #Venice, creating fragrances that reveal its secular traditions.   • On the occasion of Esxence 24 we organized an entire day at the Mandarin Oriental in Milan where we presented the novelty of the year, the Moscado perfume from the Venezia and Oriente line. Inspired by Marco Polo's journey and the raw material of Musk, it will be launched on the international market in the second half of the year. It was a great opportunity to meet national and international partners, journalists and friends of The Merchant of Venice.
